Características

Polylang permíteche crear un sitio WordPress multilingüe. Escribe artigos, páxinas e crea categorías e etiquetas coma sempre, e logo define o idioma para cada un deles. A tradución dunha entrada, sexa no idioma predefinido ou non, é opcional.

  • Podes usar cantos idiomas queiras. Tamén os de escrita de dereita a esquerda. Os paquetes de idioma do WordPress hanse descargar e actualizar automaticamente.
  • Podes traducir artigos, páxinas, multimedia, categorías, etiquetas de artigo, trebellos…
  • Admítense tipos de artigo, taxonomías personalizadas, artigos fixados e formatados, fontes RSS e todos os trebellos predefinidos do WordPress.
  • O idioma establécese polo contido ou polo seu código na url, ou podes empregar diferentes subdominios ou dominios por idioma
  • As categorías, etiquetas de artigo e outros metadatos cópianse automaticamente cando se engade unha nova tradución de artigo ou páxina
  • Proporcionase un conmutador de idioma personalizable como trebello ou no menú de navegación

Se desexas un servizo de tradución profesional ou automática, podes instalar Lingotek Translation, como engadido de Polylang. Lingotek ofrece un completo sistema de xestión de tradución que prové servizos como memoria de tradución ou procesos de tradución semi-automática (p.e. automática > humana > revisión legal).

Instalación

  1. Asegúrate de estar usando WordPress 5.1 ou superior e que o teu servidor execute PHP 5.6 ou superior (os mesmos requisitos que WordPress)
  2. Se probaches outros complementos multilingües, desactívaos antes de activar Polylang, doutra maneira, pode ter resultados inesperados!
  3. Instala e activa o complemento coma sempre dende o menú ‘Extensións’ en WordPress.
  4. Diríxete á páxina de axustes de idiomas e crea os que necesites
  5. Engade o trebello ‘conmutador de idioma’ para que os visitantes cambien o idioma.
  6. Ten en conta que o teu tema debe vir cos correspondentes ficheiros .mo (Polylang descargaraos automaticamente do repositorio de temas e complementos). Se o teu tema non fornece a tradución aínda, consulta o manual de temas ou pregunta ao autor do tema que o adapte.

Polylang always changed the priority of headers that I created in Pro Theme from Themeco. Couldn't make this work and can't be bothered to tinker with a Plugin that has such a big flaw from the get go.

Makkelijk in gebruik, ik gebruik met regelmaat voor plugins die nog geen Nederlandse vertaling hebben.
