Kevin Maguire attacks the hero Zelensky for partisan UK political purposes. Utterly pathetic. Should be ashamed of himself.

"I'm very grateful to you Boris" says Zelensky, calling for tighter sanctions. The UK lags behind the EU and US.

If the US won't help get the planes transferred, maybe we should? If we are not going to impose a no-fly zone, then this could help meet President Zalensky's central request - "please make sure that our Ukrainian skies are safe" - which we all applauded yesterday.

The US refusal to help Ukraine get the Polish jets reminds me of the conversation between Roosevelt and Churchill depicted in the Darkest Hour about the planes Britain needed before America joined the war.

Decent mainstream Brummies display their usual commonsense by humiliating the hard-left with a pitiful 360 votes and a lost deposit.

British Trotskyism's latest electoral breakthrough moment, and an indicator of the likely market for a breakaway Corbynite party, with a grand total of 360 votes, just over 2% after all the effort and boasting from TUSC.

Ukrainian guy on the 10pm news: “it’s a fight for democracy, for freedom, for human rights.” Completely right.

Fair point. Why haven’t they been booted out?

Starmer at tonight’s PLP “…Let me be very clear. there will be no place in this party for false equivalence between the actions of Russia and the actions of NATO.” So why are the signatories to the motion dong precisely that still in the PLP?

Is he related to the David Lammy who nominated him for leader? Didn’t he know what he thought in 2015?

This is the national organiser of the so-called Stop the War coalition. What a disgrace. What does the organisation’s Deputy President - Jeremy Corbyn - have to say about it? What do all the people who thought he and the hard left were fit to run our country have to say about it?

Horrendous. Unimaginable.

What would you do if a foreign army landed in Britain? What would you say to the kids before you left home not for work but for war? What would you say to your friends who decided to flee to protect their family while you fought? Or to those who fought while you leave? twitter.com/ianbirrell/sta…

Farage blames the west. What a disgrace.

Well, I was wrong. Putin has gone much further than I thought he would. A consequence of EU and NATO expansion, which came to a head in 2014. It made no sense to poke the Russian bear with a stick. These are dark days for Europe.

Good. Not before time. Kick them all out.

I understand that all 11 Labour MPs who signed the Stop The War statement (which criticised Nato) have been written to by the Shadow Chief Whip and asked to withdraw their signatures. Sounds like if they refuse to do so, they will all lose the whip.

What a disgrace. How could anyone have thought he could possibly lead an institution as important to our democracy as the Labour Party, let alone the country?

Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has said NATO’s “build-up of military personnel” in Eastern Europe is to blame for the current tensions between Ukraine and Russia. The video below was featured in a live stream titled: 'No War in Ukraine: Stop NATO Expansion'.

I feel this may be the greatest single clip of TV ever made. Reduces me to tears every time I watch to the end.

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day. In 1938, Sir Nicholas Winton brought Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia to safety in the UK. Fifty years later, That’s Life reunited him with some of those children.
