Today's featured list submissions Lists suggested here must be featured lists that have not previously appeared on the main page. Today's featured list launched in June 2011, initially on each Monday. In January 2014 it was agreed to expand to appear twice a week. The lists will be selected by the FL director, based on the consensus of the community. To submit a list for main page consideration, you simply need to draft a short summary of the list, in approximately 1000 characters, along with a relevant image from the list itself, using the template provided below. Should you need any assistance using the template, feel free to ask for help on the talk page. If you are nominating a list submitted by someone else, consider notifying the significant contributor(s) with {{subst:tfln|NAME OF LIST}} ~~~~ The community will review submissions, and suggest improvements where appropriate. If a blurb receives broad support, and there are no actionable objections, one of the directors will confirm that it has been accepted for main page submission. Please note there should be no more than fifteen nominations listed here at any one time. In rare circumstances, the directors reserve the right to exclude a list from main page consideration, a practice consistent with other main page sections such as Today's featured article and Picture of the day. Should this ever happen, a detailed explanation will be given.

American actor Tom Cruise made his debut in the romantic drama Endless Love (1981). His breakthrough role was in the coming-of-age comedy Risky Business (1983), for which he garnered his first Golden Globe Award nomination. In 1986, Cruise played a fighter pilot in Tony Scott's Top Gun, which was the highest grossing film of that year. He portrayed anti-war activist Ron Kovic in Born on the Fourth of the July (1989), for which he received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama. Three years later, he appeared with Jack Nicholson in the legal drama A Few Good Men (1992). In 1996, Cruise starred as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible, the first film produced by his production company Cruise/Wagner Productions. In the same year he played the title role in Cameron Crowe's Jerry Maguire. Three years later, he appeared in Paul Thomas Anderson-directed drama Magnolia (1999). A general comment regarding this list: The blurb fails to cover the last 20 years of Cruise's career, which doesn't make sense. In my opinion, the blurb should be reworked to summarize the entire list if this is to be used at TFL. RunningTiger123 (talk) 18:07, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

South Korean singer-songwriter, television host and actor Leeteuk made his screen debut in 2000 on All About Eve with a bit part. After joining Super Junior in 2005, he began appearing in shows related to his group — firstly Super Junior Show on KM and horror mockumentary Mystery 6. Expanding his repertoire, he started presenting soon after. His first stint as a host was on Mnet's M! Countdown between 2005–08. He rose to prominence as a host on Strong Heart, winning the Best Newcomer Award (Variety) and Excellence Talk Show Award in the 3rd and 5th SBS Entertainment Awards respectively. Events he has hosted include the Golden Disc Awards, Dream Concert, and the Idol Star Athletics Championships since 2015. He has acted in series and films such as Attack on the Pin-Up Boys, Dream High, Salamander Guru and The Shadows, and Secret Queen Makers. List of The Good Place episodes

The American fantasy comedy television series The Good Place broadcast 53 episodes over four seasons. Created by Michael Schur for NBC, the show focuses on Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell), a recently deceased young woman who wakes up in the afterlife and is sent by Michael (Ted Danson) to "the Good Place", a heaven-like utopia he designed, in reward for her righteous life. First announced as an untitled comedy series based on a pitch by Schur, the first season aired from September 19, 2016, to January 19, 2017. The second season premiered on September 20, 2017, and concluded on February 1, 2018. On September 27 of the same year, the third season began its broadcast, ending on January 24, 2018. The fourth and final season began airing on September 26, 2019, and finished its broadcast on January 30, 2020. During its run, the series was critically acclaimed and earned many awards, including two nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. Shout! List of marches by John Philip Sousa

"The Stars and Stripes Forever"

The American composer John Philip Sousa is best known for his American military marches, of which he composed 136 between 1873 and 1932. He derived few of his marches from his other musical compositions such as melodies and operettas. "The Stars and Stripes Forever" is considered Sousa's most famous composition. A British journalist named Sousa "The March King", in comparison to "The Waltz King" — Johann Strauss II. However, not all of Sousa's marches had the same level of public appeal. Some of his early marches are lesser known and rarely performed. He served as leader of the United States Marine Band from 1880 to 1892, and performed at the inaugural balls of President James A. Garfield and Benjamin Harrison. In 1987, "The Stars and Stripes Forever" was made the national march of the United States, by an act of Congress. The "U.S. Field Artillery" is the official march of the United States Army. After leaving the Marine Band, he formed a civilian band and composed various marches in the subsequent 39 years. 74th Academy Awards

The 74th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored films released in 2001 and took place on March 24, 2002, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. During the ceremony, AMPAS presented Academy Awards in 24 categories. The ceremony, televised in the United States by ABC, was produced by Laura Ziskin and directed by Louis J. Horvitz. Actress Whoopi Goldberg hosted the show for the fourth time. A Beautiful Mind won four awards including Best Picture and Best Director. Denzel Washington and Halle Berry (pictured) won lead acting honors with the latter becoming the first African-American to win the Best Actress award. List of Italy national football team hat-tricks

Paolo Rossi scored a hat-trick in the 3–2 victory against Brazil in the 1982 FIFA World Cup.

The first player who scored a hat-trick was Pietro Lana in the 6–2 victory against France on 15 May 1910. The highest individual score in a single match is four goals, which has been achieved by six players: Carlo Biagi, Francesco Pernigo, Omar Sívori, Alberto Orlando, Luigi Riva, and Roberto Bettega. Five players have scored a hat-trick more than once, such as Giuseppe Meazza, Angelo Schiavio, Silvio Piola, Luigi Riva and Paolo Rossi. The highest number of hat-tricks in a single match is three, which occurred during the third place match concerning the 1928 Summer Olympics, related to Italy's 11–3 victory over Egypt where Angelo Schiavio, Elvio Banchero and Mario Magnozzi each scored three goals. In the 1982 FIFA World Cup second group stage match, Italy won 3–2 against Brazil thanks to Paolo Rossi who scored a 'famous' hat-trick, allowing Italy to progress to the semi-finals. (Full list...)

I want this article be featured in when Italy will have scored their next hat-trick. If that's not possibile, I'd like to see it featured on 5 July 2022, as it's the 40th anniversary of Paolo Rossi's famous hat-trick against Brazil. Dr Salvus 21:18, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

@Dr Salvus: We cannot predict when "Italy will have scored their next hat-trick", so I don't think that would be a possible date. As for 5 July, it is Tuesday. TFLs are only run on Monday and Friday, so both the suggested dates are most-likely not possible. – Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 19:27, 4 February 2022 (UTC)

The Filipino band Ben&Ben has released two studio albums, one extended play (EP), 29 singles, five promotional singles, and one charity single under the record labels Sony Music Philippines and Sindikato. The band was formed as The Benjamins in 2015 by Paolo and Miguel Benjamin Guico, debuting with the single "Tinatangi". In 2016, it was renamed Ben&Ben, an eponymous EP was released, and it expanded to a nine-piece ensemble. It achieved recognition in 2018 for incorporating songs into films and television series. Ben&Ben's debut studio album, Limasawa Street, was released in 2019, and its second, Pebble House, Vol. 1: Kuwaderno, was released in 2021. In addition to receiving various accolades, the band has set various streaming milestones, and was further popularized in 2020 upon positive reviews by K-pop artists. It was reported in 2021 to be the most-streamed folk pop artist.
