Chakkappazham is an Indian Malayalam-language sitcom directed by R. Unnikrishnan, telecasted by Flowers TV since 10 August 2020. The sitcom depicts the events taking place in the family of recently married couples Sumesh and His wife Supriya Portrayed by Raffi and Haritha Haridas respectively.

Plot summary

When this series started, The story narrates the story of the chaotic and interesting family of Uthaman (SP Sreekumar). Uthaman works as a compounder in a veterinary clinic. He loves animals a lot. He is longtime rivals with his superior officer Doctor Mrigapalan. He's a good singer and dancer. Being the one of the few members with a stable job he's the breadwinner of the family.

Unfortunately Sreekumar who played the role of Uthaman, left the show suddenly and Aswathy Sreekanth who played the role of Asha, took a break from the series for her maternity leave. Thus, The main characters of this series are not there. Now the series mainly revolves around the sudden happenings in Sumesh, his wife Supriya, and his other family members life.

Sumesh (Muhammed Rafi) is mostly unemployed. Making people fight is his hobby. He is clever to divide people by fighting and change people's mind. So family members give quotation to Sumesh. He charge money he wants in quotations. But most of times his intriguers will not happen as he thinks. As he is the rust in the family, he is called "Thurumbu Sumesh" by family members. But after marrying Supriya, he starts to stop making people fight.

Supriya (Haritha Haridas), Sumesh's wife was his long-time girlfriend and they both eloped without the knowledge of their families. Later, the family understands Sumesh and Supriya's unconditional love and declare Supriya as Sumesh's wife.

Asha (Aswathy Sreekanth), Uthaman's wife, is a housewife who loves to do business. But her business ideas will change many times a day. Therefore, Uthaman wouldn't support for this. Asha's favorite person in the house is Sumesh, and she is the only person who supports him. Because of this, Asha is always accused as she is spoiling Sumesh.

Uthaman and Sumesh's father Kunjunni (Amal Rajdev) is enjoying a retired life. Kunjunni was doing the flag waving job in air force (known only to Lalitha) but his family believes that he was a pilot and he is always afraid that his lie will get caught someday.He hoarded pension money and never spend single penny. Kunjunni is very boastful man.

Lalitha (Sabitta George) was an air hostess and quit the job after marrying Kunjunni. She is very good singer.

Uthaman and Sumesh's sister Painkili/Pinky (Shruthi Rajinikanth ) married her maternal cousin, Shivan (Lalitha's nephew).She is very lazy and never do any work. She love sleeping and eating. If she sit or rest somewhere, she will sleep there. She is called "Orakkam Painkili" by family members due to her attitude.

Shivan (Arjun Somashekhar/Vishnu IP) is a constable in the Kerala Police, but he is always in suspension due to his foolishness. Shivan and his aunt Lalitha have a good bonding and love. He is a food lover and a kleptomaniac, in which Sumesh calls him "Bhootham".

Supriya's father Marthandan Kunju, who still hasn't declare Sumesh as his Son-In-Law frequently comes to the family and tries to make Supriya go back to her home. But, defeat and return to his home as Supriya always wants to stay at Sumesh's house and do not want to return to her home.

Sumesh's friend Shibu (Manu Joseph) also comes to the family for some ideas, although most of them get backfired.

The family has four children. Uthaman has three children. The eldest is Pallavi, a student.She is called "Palli" by family members.

Uthaman's only son Shambhu is a pianist, violinist, and keyboard player.

Uthaman's younger daughter Aami enjoys gossip and eavesdropping on every private conversation in the house.

Pinky's son Kannan is the youngest child in the family while the eldest member of the house is Uthaman, Sumesh, and Pinky's grandmother (Kunjunni's mother).

There is confusion, humor, healthy arguments, and much love. The main attraction of the story is the interesting fights and situational comedy between the family members.
