  We are very satisfied with the work that Mid-Valley Chimney Repair & Sweeps performed on our chimney during the week of July 23-27, 2018. Matt (T) and Billy set up, cleaned chimney and removed old mortar. Matt did an outstanding job with the re tuck point and cement crown . We commend him on his attention to detail. Howard and Seth cleaned chimney and applied sealer. They also removed scaffolding and cleaned surrounding areas. Seth took the time to remove debris from plants in front of chimney. All members of the team were professional and answered all of our questions. They were very personable and it was a pleasure to do business with everyone beginning with Matthew Simpson who did the initial inspection and gave us the estimate. We highly recommend this company and plan to call on them again

  We had a couple of Angie's List recommended masonry companies out to quote the job of adding onto our brick patio and Glen was the best priced and instilled the most confidence that he knew what he was talking about. I'd hire Glen again in a heartbeat and recommend you do the same. Here's why: He had a couple of months worth of work ahead of us, but I'm glad we waited. Glen and his son PJ were on the jobsite every day, and their attention to detail is excellent. There were a couple of unforeseen issues that came up, but Glen handled it flawlessly. For example, in the place where we were putting our patio we'd once had a big stump ground up. Once they started clearing the area, they realized they needed to rent a stump grinder and get the stump out. Although they aren't stump people, they did the job and basically charged me at cost to rent that equipment - which is more than fair. Another issue was that the local brick supplier didn't have an exact match for some of our black bricks - so Glen took an entire day and drove to Toledo to get the right brick. He didn't charge anything extra for that, and obviously the gas money and time was a cost to him. Whenever a company voluntarily takes a loss to stick to their original quote, that's a sign that you've found a good company. Ultimately, PJ finished up the job last night and then came back this morning to touch up a few things that most people would never even notice -that's the kind of attention to detail we're talking about. It's likely when you call Glen he'll still have quite a few jobs ahead of you - but there's a reason for that... it's worth the wait to get it done right

  All projects were completed with beautiful results. Their masonry division and pavers division both employ professional, seasoned crews who are assigned to the project with experienced foremen. With all of the projects there was meticulous care taken with the work, and they communicated with me about matters that came up along the way. The company was very easy to work with in negotiating the agreement, reviewing details, and getting responses to various questions along the way. There was a small group of stones, intended for capstones on a wall, that were not of the quality of the other stone, and they replaced those for me. Dan (masonry division & company) and Marty (paver division), division managers and senior managers of the company, offer careful review of their respective divisions' work and of the overall projects, and clearly care about their customers. The onsite foremen (John - masonry) and Rob (Pavers) were very careful with the details and the progress of the projects. They brought a lot of positive energy and enthusiasm to the work every day. In one instance a section of the drive wasn't to Rob's liking, and they pulled up that section and redid everything. They were careful to adjust the angles for drainage on the driveway, and were attentive to details that a lesser company might not pay attention to. They will purchase the quality of pavers/stone requested by the customer, and the Unilock pavers I chose to have installed both look beautiful, and appear to be durable also. They were attentive to protecting my home from construction dust, as I had requested, covering windows and doors in the vicinity, and cleaned up well after their work. I had a landscape design created for the overall plan for renovating the exterior of my home, and they comfortably worked with that design in establishing the dimensions of the various paver projects. I thought that the front area and driveway would look very nice as planned but it looks even better than I had hoped. Neighbors, and even the mail carrier have commented upon the awesome work; it is nice when one's neighbors can also enjoy and appreciate the results of a home project. Early in the planning stages I was deciding upon whether I was going to use HiCon's services for this work or another contractor. What tipped the balance was some advice from another contractor I had working at my home, who has had occasion to see HiCon's work over time because of the work that they do; their comment was that they thought I should contract with HiCon because their work is excellent and really holds up over time. Where this other contractor might see a more amateurishly constructed patio start to show signs of wear after a few years, the HiCon structures they have had occasion to see are often there many years later, still in good shape.   I needed to have chimney caps put on 2 flues, but was told by another vendor that the flues might be too cracked to do so without being repaired or cut down. I called several companies and did not get a reply from 2. The third company, All Seasons Chimney, referred me to Bruce because they felt he was best suited for the particular work. Bruce answered when I called and set up to come look at the situation 2 days later. He and his son, Chad, come that day, assessed the situation and installed the 2 caps the same day. Bruce and Chad were very knowledgable and personable. I would use them again for sure! Actually I am awaiting an estimate for some additional work that I inquired about before they left

  Jeremy was great to work with from start to finish. During the initial inspection/estimate, he was upfront and stated their expected start date would be a couple of months out. He was thorough in advising the various aspects of what I was interested in having done and talking through my options. We were in contact 3-4 weeks out from the expected time frame and he followed up the week of the work to confirm the days his crew would be working. The work was excellent and when I had a concern about one item, his crew came back out to make sure I was satisfied with the final product.
