  Barry was wonderful to work with. He was on time for our appointment and explained the process clearly. We picked out our door and a few weeks later the installers came with the products. Everything was exactly as we picked. The installers were professional and curteous. They worked quickly, cleaned up after the work was complete. Even our dog liked having them here. We even had a touch of rotten underlayment that they were happy to fix for us. We would definitely use Thermalcraft again

  Ace Handyman Services Chicagoland did a fantastic job for me. I have them remove 2 gas, ventless fireplaces, and build a wall with a door. They also repaired and painted the walls behind fireplaces. The work was great, they got it done with in the budget, and completed the work on time.   I have mixed reviews on this store/company. I will start with the best first, the gentleman that delivered my door and brought everything in was very kind and courteous. He took extra steps to make sure that my wood floor was protected and that all parts were there. The door is SUPER high quality, they have some great windows and doors and their location! <br> <br>Our initial visit we were a bit rushed, there was only one sales person in the showroom and there was another customer waiting on him to finish out order. He didn't seem to have the time to spend with us and he was not able to advise us on all the options available in regards to hardware style, etc. By the time I walked out of there I felt like I sold myself the door because I had to keep digging for information from him. I called back the following day to confirm a few things and to change locksets since I found one that matches the exterior lockset to the storm much better which the initial sales person did not show me as an option. I was told on the phone that there would be an up charge to the new lockset because it was a "better lockset". I agreed to the charge because I did not want the other one that did not match. I also called back to see if they could install the door that they sold me because the handyman that I had lined up to do the job was no longer available. The door took a couple months to come in due to my request for it to be finished (fiberglass). The Door Store rep said that they could NOT install the door (even though the door had not been delivered to me yet)&nbsp;since they sold me the door without installation. I felt that this was odd that they would not even allow me to pay them to do the install so I found someone else to do it. (Haris, Inc.) <br> <br>High quality products here, I wouldn't mind purchasing from them again but I would try to speak with someone that had the time to sit down with me and educate me on all their products, hardware, etc. I would also go over install at the time of purchasing knowing what I know now. <br> <br> <br

  Process went smoothly from start to finish. &nbsp;All of Homestorys representatives were prompt, courteuos and efficient. &nbsp;The sales representative was not pushy, knew the product and when contacted with questions, after the initial visit, was fast to reply. &nbsp;Measuring for the new doors, they arrived &nbsp;on time and the process was quick. &nbsp;They said it too up to 6 weeks for the doors toarrive and they were available in less than 3. &nbsp; They worked around my available schedule for installation, arrived early and were done quickly and efficiently. &nbsp;They were so tidy, it didn't seem like I had work done, &nbsp;excpt for having great new doors! &nbsp;They look better than anticipated and work so much betterthan the old builder grade doors in my townhome. &nbsp;Very happy with the entire process and would easily recommend them. <br /

  Alan and Shane replaced all of our mid-80s single pane windows with OKNA 500 series windows. Alan came out to provide the initial estimate and Alan and his son Shane did the installation - no subcontractors just Alan and his son!! In addition they added a large picture window in our living room which completely changed/improved the space. On top of being extremely patient and professional (tolerated all my questions), the craftsmanship of the window install exceeded all of our expectations!! The attention to detail and focus on executing our vision was fantastic. They upgraded our inside casings to a ‘farmhouse’ style which turned out absolutely fantastic. They are true craftsmen!!   The installation mostly went well. The installer showed up on time, hauled everything up three flights of stairs (making several trips) and worked efficiently. My only problem with the installation was that the sealing and painting of the window frame was left to me, a detail that was never shared until after installation. I feel like Brighton should have made that clear ahead of time. Here's why I won't hire Brighton again. When I put out a request for a quote back in November, the Brighton rep, Steve, was at my building within 48 hours. After accepting the quote and placing a deposit, I barely heard from him. We waited almost five months for installation from time of deposit and, for the first three months or so there was zero communication by Brighton. I reached out and was told that there were supply issues getting my window in which I completely understand. COVID has messed everything up and I know it's not Brighton's fault. This is bigger than all of us. I do wish, however, that someone would have reached out to me just to give me a heads up. From that point forward I reached out every so often for updates, often never hearing back. It was only when I called the office and asked to speak to Steve that I made some headway. The office asked what my call was regarding and I said, "the several emails he hasn't responded to." Following this exchange, Steve was in contact with me but there were constant delays due to weather--which I completely understand--but the reschedule was always, "hey, we'll be there tomorrow." I mean, I have a job. I need notice. I'm not on call for this. And when they cancelled--again, usually due to reasonable circumstances--it was at the last minute. TL:DR - installation was fine, the process leading up to it was enormously frustrating and lacked communication
