cooking rice only really had 3 main problems:
1. time intensive to continuously supervise (kamado burners) - solved in 1955 by toshiba
2. varieties of rice differed in cooking time
3. human error of water/rice ratio
where 2 + 3 were solved in 1983 by zojirushi with fuzzy logic

man i used to be such a good student. nowadays i just go in, write exams where im guessing 70% of the answers, and am always the first person to leave the room cuz i just could not care less about scores. totally just bombed a midterm that should’ve been an easy A lol
