It went fine. I did have to have them back to complete a blemish that was on the stone, and there was not a problem, they fixed it to my satisfaction.

Excellent. The only problem was that one of the products he used splattered all over things in the kitchen and it had to be hand washed...even the dishwasher wouldn't removed whatever it was.

They came out to see if the counter top could be repaired, looked at it for two seconds and told me what was wrong. Stayed to explain exactly what had happened, informed me how the last installer had not water sealed the sink, showed me that they didn't, explained what would happen next. Gave me two great referrals that they said they were not associated with and were very friendly, helpful and understanding. Didn't charge me anything on top. If I need repairs to my granite in the future I will be sure to use this business.

The job ended up costing 50% more than the original quote. Yes, I did select an upgrade, but 50% is still a huge difference. The team they sent to do the work was new to their company and made some severe mistakes. There was definitely not enough supervision. At one point, one of the workers took off on vacation out of the country while another went out of state. I was left with my kitchen torn up and many, many days without any work being done. The list of mistakes made is rather long, here are some highlights: -a cabinet hung without being anchored to the wall properly, the same with the microwave, which almost fell. -the flooring not finished under the appliances -my brand new oven dented -one of the carpets cut in the wrong spot so that the seam where they tried to fix it was very obvious -ceiling lights installed in the wrong spot -multiple delays with misleading communication ("the electrician will be there today" was repeated many times without happening -the cabinets were hung wrong, so that they had to be taken down and re-mounted TWICE -Numerous, random holes drilled into the back of the cupboards -Bad paint job, grouting smeared across new counter top that had to be scraped off with a razor blade. -Paint sprayed across the new flooring in multiple spots -Electrical outlets placed in ineffective positions -Wasted space in the cupboard layout The company did state multiple times that they wanted us to be happy and would fix the problems (the original crew was apparently fired after the mistakes became known). However, once repairs started, it was apparent they weren't going to follow through on this. The person in charge of scheduling the fixes was not helpful and argued over most the needed repairs. This dragged on for weeks with little communication and in some instances, the repairs made new problems (The new floor tile got scratched in 3 spots where they tried to get the paint off) So, overall I spent quite a bit on a job that has been patched, but does not look as good as if it had been done right the first time.

He was always supportive, honest about materials and great when it came to dealing with our active schedule. His warranty is great, we had an issue that wasn't his fault and he came out right away to fix it. Highly recommend.

I used them because I couldn't find anybody that dealt with laminate countertops in my area. They did a great job of measuring and putting it in. They were on time. I had to pick out the laminate at the store and the sales staff was very good about helping me. They made it really easy. I don't make decisions easily and they made it as painless as possible.

We are property investors living in Nevada and prices in the Portland Oregon market were very good so we bought a 4 plex in Portland in 2004 and sold it in 2006. It was located in Portland Oregon on N.E. 68th. There were two 2 br. units on top floor and two 1 br. units on the bottom with a yard surrounding the complex for everyones use. Each 2 br. unit had an attached one car garage. The rent was good. The first fix was a water heater so I called a local plumber with a big ad out of the yellow pages in Portland. We got thoroughly taken when this man put in an oversized water heater for the 1 bedroom and charged us $900 for the heater and to install. Because we weren't there to supervise. As the current tenants moved out we needed to have someone repaint, repair and locate any upgrades etc that might be needed prior to renting the units. We needed someone in Portland that we could rely on to handle the repairs. A good friend of ours in Portland that recommended D & R Byrd Construction. It is family owned and had the ability to do both large or small jobs. We flew up and met with Dave. A really nice guy! He was able to supply painters, people to install appliances, and blinds, fix small plumbing jobs like fixtures etc. All at very reasonable prices. Periodically we would fly up to see the property. My tenants were always satisfied with the promptness of the work and the people who performed it. The complex was about 20 years old and construction was not as good as we had thought. We found a problem that the water was leaking down the wall and inside the windows on both of the lower floor 1 br. units. The problem had existed for a long time but we hadn't noticed until the rains hit and the new tenants complained. Dave discovered the problem right away. For some reason when they built the 4plex the workmen failed to put insulation paper all the way to the roof line. It stopped about a foot from the roof in the attic. The wood they used was not the best so it soaked with the water and then dribbled down the walls and into the window sills and the apartments. We had to replace both the upper and lower windows and casings below the leaks, the sheet rock around the windows and the siding on the outside. Dave was able to match the siding exactly so it looked just great. We bought the duplex as an investment and after fixing its problems, painting inside and out, and adding fencing and trees to the yard we sold it in two years for a nice profit. We give 5 stars of excellence to D&R Byrd Construction! Excellent work, reasonable prices, and you can trust him to do the job right. He has reliable contractors within his reach to solve any problem right away. When the economy gets better we will invest in the Portland area again and we'll definitely use D & R Byrd for all of our needs. They talked up a great job covering everything from grout cleaning and replacing grout that is missing to removing stains etc. All I saw was a rushed job needing us to bring items to their attention to fix. They missed several areas and cost was very high for the job they completed.

Not good. They made 3 trips in order to try to stop the leak under my new sinks. We did not notice that the shelves and kick plates along that side had buckled and warped. When we saw what had happened, we had our handyman come and dry it out and repair those items. If I asked the company to fix this area, it would have taken them too long and it was an emergency situation so we never bothered with them and did not ask them for reimbursement. We had to clean up all around and behind our brand new black stainless refrigerator. Someone in the crew made a large dent on one side of the fridge and some small round ones along the left bottom. They covered the fridge only along each side - not in front. I called immediately to tell them of what happened. They sent one of the crew to take a look and he did not want to admit it was their fault. They decided not to believe me because they said "typically, when quartz gets bumped into things such as a fridge, the stone would have left scratches". The quartz that we had put in was rounded so it just made dents - sorry no scratches. I tried to take pics for Miranda, but they would not come out except the reflection of me taking them. There was an area along the wall that needed to be repaired. Miranda called one time a - month & 1/2 later - to send someone out to repair it but my husband and myself where very sick. She knew it was a bad time but we never heard from the company again. My husband did the repair himself. They said they tried to reschedule but I like I said, NO ONE EVER CALLED US AGAIN. We also had to fill in areas on our backsplash that was missed and cleaned most all of the glass tiles with a razor blade to get off the residue. Towbin had me change the quartz to another brand because the slaps were not as long. We said that would be fine because Towbin said the slab would fall under our stove top with little seam showing. He must have failed to mention it to the workers, the seam is very long and noticable along side my kitchen sink. Instead of calling us to ask for the rest of payment, we got a threatening letter to put a lien on our home. I thought it was going to be a great experience but turned out to be a nightmare. Very unprofessional! I would not recommend this company to anyone.

He is doing work at my place right now. It is great working with the owner of the company. He is very helpful, very professional, and very good. If I say something is wrong he would fix it right away. He shows up when he says he would. The quality of the work is very good. I spent quite a bit for it.

Home Depot stands behind their work 100 percent. During the installation process of my garbage disposal, they created a small leak that wasn't noticed for awhile. I did call Home Depot and they sent someone out right away and replaced the floor under our sink in which they installed also. We have not had any problems since the repair was done and we are completely satisfied with the work that they did.

Team Tile & Stone completed the job at least a month ago. I spent $ 5000 give or take. The gentleman who owns it, his name is Steve Dye. He was very professional. He had other people working for him. It took a couple weeks to do. There was drywall, there was painting, there was installation of the shower, the plumbing, the tile for the floor and the walls, it was quite entailed. He was very good, the people he had working for him were very good. Very professional. Did exactly what he said, very on time. Followed through. I really appreciate that he was here every day, or every other day at least, he came to inspect what was done or being done to make sure it was done, if I had any questions. I was very happy and the job is done very well. He came out at first and gave me an estimate and measured.

Excellent service and quality! We chose to work with Barry and his crew in part from an award given to the company by Angie's list. Barry was very professional and quite helpful in assisting us with the choice of materials, colors, etc. while staying within our budget. He offered a very reasonable price compared to other bids we received. We were contacted by Ann and Michelle in his office (who were very obliging and easy to work with) to schedule a time for install. The time allotted did not work with our schedule, so they made special arrangements with the installers to accommodate our needs. The installer was always punctual, very pleasant, neat and finished on time. Matt is our hero, he was available every step of the way to resolve any of our concerns. He returned about two weeks after the install to repair a drawer that did not open easily. This issue was not the result of the install, however, he took the time and repaired it anyway. Great product, great service, great follow up and the finished product is absolutely beautiful!

I got a call from my wife while I was at work letting me know that water was leaking in to our downstairs kitchen from our upstairs master bath. I talked my wife through the process of shutting off the water to the house and then a coworker suggested I call Luis with J & L to help me find the leak and get a quote on fixing it. Luis agreed to meet me at my house that night when I got off of work which was really appreciated. It didn't take long for him to discover that the leak was actually one that had been there a while and was a fitting in my "wisbro" (sp?) pipe that had gone bad. It was clear I had big issues because I had mold, due to the length of time the leak was there, on top of sheetrock damage. Luis gave me an estimate, that included the mold cleanup, and while I wasn't pleased to have to come out of pocket for a fix like this I was pleased it wasn't more due to nightmare stories I've heard about mold cleanup. I trusted Luis based on my friends recommendation and the fact that he's a licensed contractor and seemed to really know what he was looking at and had done it all before. While he was fixing the damage we also had him upgrade the cabinetry, countertops, and sinks. All in all it turned out excellent and he was in and out like nothing flat. His guys were very professional to work with and I'd trust them with even bigger jobs I may have down the line (wife has a patio cover and kitchen remodel on her wish list). At any rate...A+ for Luis and J & L.

We spent about $3500 on that work. There was a problem with one of them and they immediately recognized the problem. They reordered and were right in to fix it and we could not tell anything had been replaced or anything. They were very knowledgeable and were easy to deal with when there was a problem. When they had to reorder the materials, it took a long time, but once they were here, everything was done well.
