“FPGA InsideOut” – animation about CRC and parallel CRC calculation

FPGA *Manufacture and development of electronics *Electronics for beginners Programming microcontrollers *Open source *

Ссылка на русскую версию / link to Russian version

FPGA InsideOut is an attempt to make a set of educational FPGA videos presented in the “human-in-the-loop” style. In these videos we will not only show how we are interfacing with an actual FPGA board but will also provide synchronous real-time visualisation of FPGA's internal logic.

For our first video we have picked a CRC circuit (cycle redundancy check) which is based on a linear feedback shift register. This circuit goes through several transformations during the course of the video. Intrigued? - let’s watch the video.

A new writing method/technology (“dendrowriting”), as exemplified by the YearVer site

Language localisation *Brain

Several years have passed since the appearance of the first text markup language that supports “dendrowriting”, but no worthwhile piece of text demonstrating the advantages of the new writing method/technology has yet appeared.

The largest “dendrotext” was a couple of paragraphs in the pqmarkup documentation, consisting of only ~1300 characters and available only in Russian.

In English there was no “dendrotext” at all, as such [apart from small insertions in the documentation for the 11l programming language (e.g., ‘Boolean type’ in Built-in types)].

But last year...

CraftBot Flow IDEX XL 3D Printer Review

Top 3D Shop corporate blog

Created by Hungarian manufacturer CraftUnique, the CraftBot Flow IDEX XL is a large-format FDM 3D printer equipped with an independent dual extruder (IDEX). The device is aimed at designers, artists, engineers, and architects who want to create large professional prints for artistic, functional, or prototyping needs.

The build chamber of the machine has dimensions of 425 x 250 x 500 mm, providing users with a potential volume of 56 liters. The IDEX system, in which two all-metal hotends are placed in two separate print heads, allows the extruders to freely move along the X-axis. Thanks to the maximum nozzle temperature of 300 °C, the CraftBot Flow IDEX XL is compatible with an array of tough thermoplastics like ABS, Nylon, PETG, and PVA.

The majority of the functions including filament loading/unloading can be accessed via a full-color 5" touch screen located on the front panel. The connectivity options of the device include USB, Wi-Fi, and a cloud. In addition, the printer boasts a built-in camera that allows creating timelapses and controlling the machine remotely, as well as a filament runout sensor to pause printing and continue the process with the other extruder.

Technogym Using Delta WASP 3D Printer for Fitness Equipment Prototypes

Top 3D Shop corporate blog

WASP has concluded a partnership with fitness equipment manufacturer Technogym, which uses a Delta WASP 4070 Industrial 4.0 3D printer for prototyping its new equipment for fitness. (This model also has an improved version called Delta WASP 4070 Industrial X that features considerably higher print speeds.)

Technogym purchased the printer in order to reduce its maintenance costs and enable the creation of large prototype parts. The machine proved to be a great tool that shortens lead times, especially for large components. "We chose the Delta WASP 4070 INDUSTRIAL 4.0 system for many reasons, one of the most important is certainly its large print volume feasibility," Technogym explained. "We also appreciate its printing speed and the much lower cost of support-materials, which allows us to buy more material spools and make more tests."
