He came within an hour! I couldn't close the basement door. He found the problem, which was simple to him, but not to me. He removed the bottom weather stripping from the base on the ground, purchased a new weather strip for the door and installed it.

I asked them to do the floor insulation and weather stripping for two doors. First of all, the person who came to my house to give me a bid promised to do two things they could not even follow through. I didn't like the attitude of the technician who came to do the actual work. He was kind of upset when I brought up these two things supposed to be done. He said he could not do these two things. Also, they charged $100 for a very basic weather stripping (non-professionals can easily do this kind of work.) for just for one door. They didn't even check if the lock would work after installing the weather stripping. After they left, I found out that I could not use the deadbolt lock on this door. I complained and told them that I didn't want to pay $100 for such a sloppy job. They quickly gave me a credit for this which was good. I ended up having the weather stripping for just one door. (I had to replace another door.) The floor insulation didn't make any difference. The bid they gave me for the wall insulation was $3000. I thought it was pretty expensive and decided to ask another company to do the wall insulation. They only charged me $933! The owner of this company looked at the floor insulation done by ecoInsulate and said they did a really bad job. He showed me how bad it was. The insulation was not attached to the floor (there is a huge gap between the insulation and the floor.), so the cold air still comes through. They also left some insulation unwrapped. I feel like I wasted a lot of money. I don't understand why this company gets good reviews.

We are more than happy to write a review for Carlos Quiroga and his business, CQ Designers of Expression. We have used his services for about 8-9 years and have been so pleased with his workmanship and professionalism in everything he does. He takes great pride in his work and it shows. He has so many skills that we use his services for just about everything from painting to yard care, to gutter and window cleaning to hanging Christmas lights etc., etc. He is a honest, trustworthy person who charges reasonable prices. We very very comfortable having him work in our home and have shared his name with many friends and neighbors who are equally pleased with his work.

Not well. Admittedly, Jo, the workperson had to go to Lowes several times to get correct materials which never really worked out but Lowes is exactly 5 minutes from our home. What should have taken no more than 3 hours took 6 and the bill was $586!!! We paid. To add insult to injury, we had an email from Amyworks 3 weeks later stating that they no longer would be providing handyman services as they could not find suitable workmen(women) and would now be focused on how to workshops. What????? This was the first time we actually used our premium Angies List membership and it will be the last.

It went extremely well, the repair was done and the whole door jamb repainted. It was a very professional job and the gentleman doing the work was extremely pleasant as was his supervisor who came at the outset of the work. They also followed up with a phone call to check that everything was satisfactory. Gillian M Frank

They had to go back to Home Depot 3 times with correct parts that wasn't dented. They put weather stripping in two doors, pushed in the dishwasher and changed the florescent tubes. They helped me out with all kind of repair jobs and they are absolutely wonderful.

Bill was great! he arrived on time and completed all the items on my list effectively and efficiently. His drywall patches are almost invisible, so I don't feel like I have to paint it right away

The two installers arrived on time. ?They did one part of the project in a way that was different from the original plan, but they got my approval first and it made sense. ?Afterwards, they cleaned up thoroughly.

Washington Energy Services representatives at the start of the process were polite and responsive. The representative that conducted the initial assessment forgot to turn our heating and fresh air return back on after completing his work. Unfortunately we didn't notice until the house got very cold over night. He was apologetic and offered to remove the charge for the assessment (which they would do anyway if we continued with them). They use a "good, better, best options" sales technique but were not pushy about it and allowed for coming up with our own combination of services. They were very responsive to all of our questions during this early part of the process. The installation was okay with some minor damage to the hatch and a couple of led light can installations not finished off perfectly. Unfortunately, their responsiveness became very poor after they received the complete payment. We contacted them for information about the led can lights and which dimmer switches would be compatible. It took them many weeks and repeat contact for them to get back to us. They have never been back to conduct the follow up blower test and not responding to our request to schedule it. We have repeatedly asked them to provide a detailed tax receipt that would allow us to claim some of the energy saving products on our tax return. We received a general receipt, without any breakdown of items, twice. We are still waiting for the detailed receipt. Their service after being paid has been so poor that I would not use them in future and do not recommend them to anyone else.

Everything went VERY WELL. Calvin takes a lot of pride in his workmanship and it shows. While repairing the holes in the sheet rock he took the time to use backing on one of the holes because it was too big. He could have just filled the hole with several layers of mud but it could/would be weak and may crack out in years to come. The handrail I had him relocate was because it was originally installed using anchors - which just pulled out through the sheet rock. After repairing the sheet rock he took the time to make certain the handrail supports were screwed into studs. Another instance of pride in workmanship was when resealing the shower he used a caulking that had grout in it so it matched the sanded grout used in the tile shower. The color was a shade off so instead of just running the bead of sealant he told me that Home Depot had a product that would be a perfect match color-wise. I ran to HD to get it while he stayed busy working on other things. He was right - the color was right on! I could see where Calvin would get pretty busy at times and get stretched pretty thin due to demand because this guy does good work for a reasonable price and works efficiently. I retired after 43 years in the residential construction (different sub-trade than work being done) and I can honestly say there aren't many true "craftsman" left in the industry. Calvin is a Craftsman by every sense of the word. If you try to contact him to do some work for you and he's busy, busy, busy - it's for a reason. My recommendation would be to wait and he will get to you when he can. He's not the kind of guy to go out and hire others to work for him just to get jobs done.

Recent Review: They were great. I don’t remember the amount I spent but I know it was reasonable. We needed somebody who knew what he was doing. We did not take up the challenge ourselves. It did take him a while to get it done but it got done. It was done right. He was fine. The price was fine and it’s hard to find somebody to do small jobs. I would use his services again in the future.

Recent Review: Called Ron about a rental house I have that needed a new garbage disposal. Ron responded quickly, was easy to talk with, and I gave him the renter's information so he could coordinate with the tenant the best time to do the work. We discussed what kind of garbage disposal to get and then Ron picked up the new disposal at the store and installed it soon thereafter. The repair was done hassle free and the tenant is happy with their new disposal. I definitely recommend Ron for anyone needing handyman services.
