    I had a 30 year old furnace on its last legs. Given I am someone who always does a lot of research before moving forward, I did some online research and besides the company that had been servicing my existing HVAC equipment giving me a quote, I contacted 5 other companies for bids on a new furnace and AC system. In my research, I read that the quality of the install is just as or more important than the brand of the equipment. And I definitely noticed a difference in the knowledge and expertise each company presented when I met with their company sales rep / estimators. I ended up with 7 quotes (one company quoted two different brands) but two reps really stood out from the rest with their knowledge. One was Lonnie Auten with Wade Heating & Cooling. Lonnie and a Trane rep were the only two who took the time to do calculations to ensure the system was properly sized (the others just looked at the size I was replacing and asked if I was happy with how it kept the temperature). Lonnie and the other gentleman were also the only two to notice a couple issues with the way our old company had installed a humidifier. In fact, even though I just had the furnace serviced a week prior and mentioned the humidifier was leaking – the old service tech did not fix it. Lonnie saw it was leaking, went out and grabbed a tool from his car and tried to figure out the issue to stop the leak. He discovered a slight crack in a supply hose and said he could have his techs fix it if they did the install (in the end I had them replace the entire humidifier). Lonnie and the other gentlemen were also the only two to talk about federal tax credits and to ensure the whole system was AHRI matched to qualify for those tax credits. They both took the time to answer all my questions I ended up with 2 quotes on Carrier, 2 on Bryant, 2 on Trane and 1 on Lennox equipment. While not the cheapest quote, the quotes provided by Lonnie and the one Trane rep were pretty competitive. I actually had a lower quote from another Carrier dealer, but I just felt much more comfortable that Wade would provide a higher level of installation and service so chose to move forward with them. My installation took place over two days and the two installers, Scott and Brandon were very professional, on time and did a great job. They asked me if I had any questions up front, told me what they would be doing that day, and kept me apprised calling me down when needed to ensure I was ok with a few placement decisions they had to make. They cleaned up everything, walked my wife and I through how to operate everything and made sure I was satisfied. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend Wade to others. In fact, based on my interactions with Lonnie and before my install was done, I gave my daughter and her fiancé Wade’s name and number as they needed a pressure relief valve on a heating boiler in the house they just bought replaced and were not having any luck finding someone to service it in a timely manner. Wade was able to come out, order the part and plans to install it for them next week. Very happy with my experience

    Knoechel Heating Co. is wonderful. To begin with, Jason, the owner, came out to give me an estimate. He patiently answered every question. He quoted me on three different price points and explained the differences in the equipment at each price point. I had several other companies come out to give me estimates, too. Not only did Jason have a great price but he was the most professional. Lennox is one of the top brands for HVAC systems and their reputation for quality and warranty is well known. The Knoechel crew arrived promptly at the appointed time and I was introduced to each member. The crew was skilled, organized, knowledgeable, professional, quiet, courteous, and efficient. I had a large tool chest in the mechanical room. The crew worked well together and appeared they instinctively knew when another crew member needed a helping hand. I never saw a crew member standing around or wasting time. I was told how long the job would take to complete and it was done on time. They completely cleaned up everything, both inside and outside. The system is working perfectly, is very quiet and is much more efficient than my old system.     My furnace is two years old and still under warranty. On Dec 13, I called the company that installed my furnace and held the warranty. They told me they could not come out until Dec 22, but I could be reimbursed if I had to call an outside company. I called Sullivan's and they were at my house first thing the next morning. Ryan was my service man and he was VERY professional considering the conditions he had to work under. Then I received a call from the company that installed my furnace and suddenly they can come today. Go figure. When I told Ryan that my warranty company was able to come today, Ryan continued to service my furnace as his company promised. I ended up only paying for the service or diagnostic fee

    The service was accretional. Mat quickly found the problem and explained several options to resolving the problem. From the quick and dirty cheap solution to the replacement of the air conditioner. He left me with several brochures for different air conditioners for me to review. There was no pressure to buy something that I did not think was necessary. A few days later, I called back and scheduled the installation of a new air conditioner. Their flexibility for scheduling appointments was top notch. On their own, they actually installed the air conditioner several days early. Their effort was much appreciated.     We used Staab in 1987 to add AC to our existing forced air system. We moved in 2007 and never had any problems with the Bryant unit bought from Staab. When we returned to Pittsburgh in 2020, we naturally called Staab to install a complete forced air AC system in the home we purchased. It was installed in four days, start to finish, works flawlessly and the installation crew was excellent, courteous, knowledgeable and never once complained about working in the extreme heat in the attic.     My old furnace died overnight so I called the heating company down the street I've been using for a few years. They quickly pronounced it dead and gave me a quote on a replacement unit. One thing I found a little odd was the quote took like 5 minutes. Maybe it is just that simple but I expected a little more detail considering the money involved. With the amount involved, I decided to get a second quote and called Phillips. The technician that was very professional, did a MUCH more thorough exam of my furnace (took the thing half apart) and concurred it was my secondary heat exchange. I asked him to quote me a replacement and two things stood out to me. First, it took him about 45 minutes to gather info and write up the quote. Second, he gave me options in three price ranges, explained in detail the differences between the options and told me which one compares closest to my current unit. I suddenly felt much more comfortable about the large amount of money I was about to spend. I decided on a model and he was able to schedule it for the next morning. He explained in detail what would need to be done, gathered more info and took photos to pass on to the installers. The payment for that day's visit was applied to the furnace price. He also offered to have space heaters dropped off to get me through the night (but I already owned one) which I appreciated. The installers showed up on time the next morning and they were professional, presentable and courteous. They explained how the installation would go, gave me a couple of options on where they could run cables and honestly didn't bother me again until the end of the day when they needed to get the thermostat on my WiFi network. Another technician nearby finished a job early and came over to help so they finished a little early. They explained everything to me and answered my questions. Nobody is ever happy about suddenly needing to spend thousands of unplanned dollars but it's nice to walk away from the experience with a good feeling

    This is about the sixth year we have used Wade Heating for our furnace and A/C work. We found Wade Heating to be very honest and reliable. We always buy their annual furnace and A/C agreement to avoid mid-season surprises. Wade's technicians have always been courteous and informative. The last two times we got a Tech named Dylen. The first time Dylen came was by coincidence as Wade Heating assigned him the job. However, Dylen was so exceptional we asked for him by name this time. As alwyas he was courteous, informative and very personable. When he is done with the service call we always feel satisfied that everything was done correctly.     We had initially planned to work with another company, but their technicians fell ill and the project was delayed longer than we could accept. Reviews of South Hills Electric were very good, so I contacted them to bid. The initial technician they sent out underbid the project and didn't fully review all our needs. I discovered the missing information on the bid (lesson learned: always review all the details!) the day before the work was to be done. I called the office and expressed my concerns. Donna sent Natalie out to review the situation that afternoon. The quote was re-bid significantly higher than the original. However, given the situation, they renegotiated a compromise. Natalie and another technician (I'm sorry I don't remember his name) came out on time the next day. All work was performed professionally, efficiently, safely, and completely. After they left, one GFCI outlet in the kitchen wasn't working. Natalie came back immediately and replaced the outlet. She was very thorough as she worked with all of our (very old) wiring, rewrapping, capping and grounding as needed. I feel so much safer and our new fixtures look great (we bought them, but they installed). I would certainly contract with this company again
