Avalon Tub & Tile
5.0
Incredible caring and understanding of needs / monetary limitations displayed. Service was second to none. Showed up exactly on schedule and completed the job as promised. Price very reasonable. I would most certainly use them again. Highly recommend their tub modification to anyone considering an expensive tub to shower conversion which would cost 4 to 5 times more

Gilson & Daughters Construction

These guys usually do disabled access builds (ramps etc.) but a friend recommended them to us as good with general carpentry and woodworking, so we asked them to come out and repair/rebuild a some woodwork on our stairs and railing that had been problematic to integrate with some other renovations we were doing nearby. They came out immediately when I called to come up with a work plan and estimate, and were back in a week to complete the work. The work looks great and was very reasonably priced, given the complexity. I would definitely recommend them for any job in the carpentry or handyman category.

Klipa Contracting Company

The job was done with amazing quality and professionalism. I've had Justin & Dan work on my house before and this is not my first review. Initially we were going to have one bathroom remodeled, but it soon made more sense to get both done at once. The one above needed love too, and if a problem would arise up there, the downstairs bath would pay the price. I'm disabled, and Justin did his best to accommodate my needs. I think the before & after pics speak louder than anything else i could say. They are of the downstairs bath. They are amazing to work with. He's a busy guy, you might need to wait for him. They are definitely worth the wait!

SCIARRETTI BUILDERS
1.0
Based upon my experience, I believe Frank Sciarretti conducts his business in a fraudulent and deceptive manner. Services under the contract were NOT performed. Frank Sciarretti made false statement verbally and in writing in order to collect payments in advance. I have records to document this. There was only one contract and not changes on my part to the contract. All payments were made via direct deposit to Frank Sciarretti's bank account. The contract as signed in July 2012 and he verbally promised an August 26, 2012 job completion date as he knew the homeowners were on a fixed income and had given notice. When he failed to meet the August date, he promised an October 26, 2012 job completion date in writing and to pay the home owners rent. He then cheated my mother by paying her less. Sciarretti Builder's aka Frank Sciarretti made multiple excuses as to why he could not meet deadlines to perform the work. Frank Sciarretti did not complete home improvement for elderly and disabled homeowners despite receipt of more than 75% of the payments in advance. The work performed was substandard and not according to code. The homeowners have not been able to access their home because he rendered it unlivable. Frank Sciarretti claimed he lost part of one of the payments as he took out in cash that fell out of his pocket. Frank Sciarretti uses multiple names for his company so be very careful to avoid this contractor. He is not registered. I have requested a refund however he has ignored this request sent via certified mail in January 2013. For more information on Orlando Frank Sciarretti aka Frank Sciarretti please search the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System Web portal. Use the public Docket Sheets link and search under ?Criminal Courts of Common Pleas? link, there are several cases in the Allegheny County criminal docket that demonstrates what I believe to be a pattern of behavior. Unfortunately, I did not find information until it was too late.

Tri-State Restoration Service Inc
5.0
The condo above me had their hot water tank burst and it flooded my home. I had water dripping from the bathroom exhaust fan when I awoke that morning, my bathroom received the most damage with large ceiling stains which expanded out to the hall, and bathroom walls that blistered when water got under the paint. The carpet flooding expanded to all rooms except my kitchen. I called several restoration companies that AM, none of which would come out that day. Tri-State was the only one willing to start the drying out process that day and the owner Scott Bernett arrived after his normal workday to install several large fans in the most severe areas which relieved my anxiety greatly. Scott arrived for three days to rotate the fans until the carpet was completely dry. After the condo association insurance approved the repairs needed, I was tasked with choosing my replacement carpet as a first step to restoration. Due to personal reasons(I am now disabled), there was a very significant delay in my ability to follow through with any more work. When my situation improved, I contacted Tri-State and spoke with office manager Deborah to relaunch the restoration project and even though all that time had passed, once she investigated my claim Tri-State agreed to complete the work. The individual employee Brent was a pleasure to have in my home. He was personable, skilled and very helpful. He even fixed my bifold laundry doors(with Scott's approval) at no charge, something that was unrelated to the insurance claim. Even their choice of carpet vender was helpful, replacing my second bathroom carpet with linoleum at my request and at no extra charge. All in all, I can not recommend this firm enough, my entire experience with all their employees was nothing but positive and I am very pleased with the quality of work performed.
