When viewing the activity log after updating a user’s profile, the activity log shows that the profile was updated, however in the metadata column it says Username: followed by the users nickname. (rather than what I would expect, the actual username)

    hi @wesyah234,

I’m not sure what do you mean exactly. As far as I know by default you can not change the username in WordPress without a plugin or by changing directly in the database, so we take the username itself not the nickname to avoid confusion.

I’m not talking about changing the username, I’m pointing out that when looking at the activity log, and I’m trying to see which user did a certain activity, the log shows the user’s nickname, rather than showing the user’s username. Even though the column is labeled Metadata, and the metadata displayed shows the words “username:” followed by NOT the username but the nickname.. this is confusing, if it’s going to display the nickname, it should say “nickname: ” If I could upload a screenshot here I would, and things would be easier to explain.

I’m not sure what do you mean, so if you can share any screenshot with explanation and uploading it to image hosting like https://imgur.com/ it will be helpful.

    Tnx
