Data collection and analysis provide an opportunity to build and maintain relationships with supporters, like you, in a variety of ways. However, our main priority is your trust in our organization, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP). We use several measures to keep any personal information we capture secure.

The following policy is our commitment to your privacy, and while most of the language focuses on online privacy, we extend these same standards and considerations to all constituent information, regardless of the source.

Information We Gather from You:

  • When you sign up to receive e-mail updates, we ask for your contact name and e-mail address.
  • When you donate online by credit card, you are required to submit your name, your credit card number and billing information for credit card verification purposes. This information allows our credit card processor Blackbaud [blackbaud.com] to process and fulfill your donation, to notify you of your donation status or to associate your donation with a particular fundraising campaign. If you would like to donate anonymously, please indicate this when completing the donation form by checking the box “I would like this gift to remain anonymous.” If you pay by check you can indicate that you wish to remain anonymous by noting it on the check. The payment information you provide on the Blackbaud website when making a donation is transmitted and stored securely by Blackbaud, our payment processor. You should review their privacy policy and contact them directly at [email protected] with any questions about payment security.
  • When you visit our websites (disasterphilanthropy.org, disasterplaybook.org and louisianarecoveryalliance.org), your IP address is visible to us and used in conjunction with non-personally identifiable information such as browser, operating system, referring URL, country, location and behavior on the site. At no time is your IP address linked with anything that personally identifies the owner of the IP address.
  • The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) collects personally identifiable data through our websites and online platforms, such as names, addresses, zip/postal codes, e-mail addresses, etc., when submitted by a visitor. This personal information is used solely by CDP and is protected.
  • We may use cookies and similar technologies like tracking pixels to access or store information about traffic patterns and user behavior on the site.

 
What We Do with Your Information:

  • The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) will never share, rent, loan or sell your personal information with anyone else or with any other organization.
  • Also, CDP will not send mailings to you on behalf of other organizations.

Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s Opt-out Policy: If at any time you would like to discontinue your relationship or part of your relationship with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, simply use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email you receive or contact us directly at [email protected]. 

Correcting Your Personal Information: If at any time you believe the information collected by CDP is incorrect or inappropriate, simply email us at [email protected] to have your information changed or removed from our database. 

Right to Erasure: If you wish to delete your account or have your information removed from our system, email [email protected]. For your privacy and security, this request must originate from the email address of your CDP account.

Children: Our sites targeted to general audiences and we do not collect information about a visitor’s age. CDP does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13; we do not offer products or services directly to children. If we ever learn that we have collected any personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
