Leadership-NetworksAACN's Leadership Networks provide information, networking, and professional development for nursing school faculty and staff. The Networks bring peer professionals together to share best practices and success stories, sharpen leadership skills, and take full advantage of AACN resources. Professionals engaged in a variety of functions within the nursing academic unit are represented among the seven networks.

The Networks will foster professional growth and development, information sharing, communication, and discussion of key issues among Nursing school faculty and staff at member institutions. Networking within these groups will be facilitated through programs, meetings and electronic communications.

Business Officers of Nursing Schools (BONUS) is dedicated to facilitating networking among those who work in the administration of nursing education and to providing education in areas of business, technology, and financial and administrative management of nursing schools.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Leadership Network (DEILN)

The DEILN supports the efforts of AACN member institutions and academic nursing at the local, regional, and national levels to advance diversity and inclusion. These efforts include, but are not limited to:

  • Sharing evidence-based promising practices
  • Engaging with the membership
  • Providing consultative services
  • Convening networking forums

The goal of DEILN is to align its efforts with the strategic diversity goals and objectives of AACN and the larger nursing community.

Who Should Join?

Membership in DEILN is open to all faculty, deans, and staff with an interest in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. This network will be of particular interest to diversity officers, administrators responsible for multicultural/diversity affairs, and those serving in or aspiring to similar roles.

Graduate Nursing Admissions Professionals (GNAP)

Graduate Nursing Admissions Professionals is a diverse group comprised of nursing education administrators and faculty responsible for graduate nursing student recruitment, admissions, marketing, and programming. The purpose of the group is to provide an opportunity for those most involved in recruiting graduate nursing students to share their successes, develop new strategies, and to establish a resource network of peers.

Who Should Join: Professionals engaged in recruiting students into graduate programs.

Faculty Leadership Network (FLN)

Formerly known as the Instructional Leadership Network and the Faculty Resource Network.

The Faculty Leadership Network provides a forum for nursing faculty to explore real world issues, pose pedagogy questions, and exchange ideas related to teaching and curriculum in professional nursing education. The primary purpose of the FLN is to facilitate faculty networking and foster development of its members through webinars, conference sessions, and electronic communications that support the evolution of teaching and learning.

Who Should Join: Faculty whose main focus is teaching didactic and clinical courses in baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs.

Nursing Advancement Professionals (NAP)

The Nursing Advancement Professionals is designed for advancement professionals with responsibilities and interests in areas of nursing philanthropy, public relations, marketing, alumni relations and institutional advancement.
