  Derek was on time, took off his boots and placed drop-cloths by fireplace. He meticulously took off the glass, dismantled the whole system and made the 20 year plus gas fireplace look new! He replaced the pilot light which was no surprise to us. He also recommended a remote controlled thermostat which we needed. This is our primary heat source in the winter and the room would become too hot so it was a constant battle of opening a door and the room got too cold or having to add and then remove layers of clothes multiple times. I cannot rave enough about this company

  &nbsp;Young gentleman arrived promptly on time, very engaging, professional - inspected our chimney / fireplace in the living room and said it looked in great shape and did not need a cleaning (Great !). <br /> &nbsp;He then went and got his ladder and took a look from the top of the chimney down from the roof - came back 10 minutes later and said things do not look so good from up there and that we needed a chimney liner to remain in 'code'. &nbsp; <br /> Said that for that day I just owned a chimney inspection fee of $85 and that they would send an itemized quote out for a liner, labor and also an optional chimney cap cost (which I inquired about). <br /> We received the email quote the following Tuesday (few days later): <br /> $2K for a 6&quot; X 35 foot steel liner + $450 install/labor (+ possible additional $500 labor if need to breakout existing flue tile) <br /> $550 for a 33X17 inch steel flue cap + $100 install/labor <br /> Within this time we have had three other companies tell us we certainly DO NOT need a liner (chimney is less than 10 years old), and we still asked them for a quote for one - all three were less (ie, $1,800-$2,000 installed versus $2,450). &nbsp; <br /> Furthermore - we also asked for a quote on a chimney cap - all three were less expensive there as well (we ended up going with someone for $350 installed, versus $650 which On Duty quoted). <br /> <br /> <br /

Upon completion of the project, Matt showed us photos of the chimney and informed us that due to age and deterioration, the chimney needed to be repointed.   Michael was great!! He was professional from the initial phone call. He was clear and to the point. The day before he gave me a reminder call, and on the morning of he called me to let me know his ETA. Michael did exactly what he said he would. He gave me a written report for my records at the end. Also, noting some areas in the home related to the fireplace that may need tending to, he offered to quote me for the job.   Amazingly well. The garage has a low ceiling, so Lou and son had to dig out the old asphalt by hand. An enormous amount of work, and then they had to remove 12" of solid concrete that was dumped outside the garage and which would interfere with the new floor. Every part of the project was explained in detail, and Lou did a top quality job. I really appreciate a job well done, and I nobody does a job as well as Lou. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat.   <p>Every time I have needed him he has met me here. I called the day I had a flood and he showed up. I called from my office and he said he would meet me at my house; he got there when I got there. We found it wasn't just a flood. I thought it was the hot water heater, but it was that all the sewage had backed up in the basement. It was a massive job. He called the other guys to come in and do the cleaning. He stayed with me until everything was set. My hot water heater did go shortly after. He was there that day to change it. I thought the problem was my pilot light but he told me it was the thermocoupler. He said he would get someone over here and he did. From what I know about costs, Dave has always been right about the middle. He is not really excessively high, he shows up on time and what he charges I pay. The quality of his work is excellent. I have never had anything go wrong that he did. That has not always been the case. I called him this weekend and he was out of town. He got right back to me. We talked about it, he called around to get people and said if he could not be here he would have someone else there Monday morning. And he did; that's responsive. His punctuality was excellent. He interrupted a job to come meet me. I am no special customer and do not have that much work for him, but he comes --&nbsp;he does it. He was&nbsp;there right on time. He does the job, does it well, is on time and charges what&nbsp;plumbers charge. He is good. Every time I have needed him he has been here. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p
