    AACN is pleased to announce that 45 nursing faculty from across the nation completed the virtual weeklong intensive for the Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing (ELAN) program, held October 18-21, the first of three learning components. ELAN is part of AACN’s leadership development portfolio, AACN LEADS, and is specifically designed for aspiring deans and senior faculty in leadership roles.

    The Foundation for Academic Nursing, the philanthropic arm of AACN, is pleased to announce the 2021-2022 recipients of the AACN Faculty Scholars Grant Program. Following.a competitive process involving 57 applications from facultly nationwide, the nurse educators to receive funding for their scholarly projects are Dr. Laurie Kennedy-Malone from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for her work on Enhancing Nurse Practitioner Competency-Based Education and Assessment with Innovative Video Simulations, and Dr. Kristen Munyan from Oakland University for her work on Enhancing Laboratory Infrastructure to Support At-Risk and ESL Students.

    AACN and the Commission on Nurse Certification (CNC) are now accepting nominations for the 2022 CNL Educator Award and the CNL Vanguard Award.

AACN has joined The DAISY Foundation™ to issue a National Call for Nurse Faculty Recognition to honor academic leaders responsible for preparing the nation's nursing workforce. AACN encourages those wishing to formally recognize nurse educators to consider using The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty. This award was created to honor nursing faculty who inspire their students to provide high quality, compassionate care.  AACN is committed to celebrating the faculty role and spotlighting the efforts made to recognize nurse educators in our newsletters, on the website, and at our regional meetings and conferences.
