Egencia is being used by the United States teams to book travel. The Egencia tool is also used for United States employees' to manage and submit their expenses.
  • Easy to use
  • Organized
  • Sleekier interface
  • Quicker loading times
Egencia is excellent to use as a uniform tool across thousands of employees.
I haven't used the support tool through Egencia yet to date.

Egencia was used by my company to plan and organize all corporate travel. I worked with several executives to plan their travel through Egencia, including car rental, hotel, and flights. It helped because the executive was able to enter their information in their account and then set me up as an administrator. I didn't have to worry about entering their information, the system would automatically populate it from what they entered.
  • I have very few good things to say about Egencia.
  • Customer service was awful. It was a running joke that when we had to call customer service for something (frequent), it was a crap-shoot whether we were going to get someone that knew what they were doing.
  • The website was not intuitive and sometimes made it difficult to find the flights we wanted. Most of the admins resorted to looking for flights on other services and then searching for that flight specifically in Egencia.
My experience with Egencia was terrible, across half a dozen admins. We had a running document of issues that we kept because there were so many. There were flights that didn't book properly and cancellations that didn't go through even though we spoke directly to a customer support agent, executives not getting their points for flights or hotel stays and getting charged for calls that were required by Egencia's system to book a trip. Frankly, they have some terrible customer support agents (not all, I did speak with some perfectly lovely and very competent ones, but it was 50/50).
I'm giving them a four because not all of their customer service was terrible. There were some agents that were fantastic at helping me get things sorted out. But it was much more likely that I would get someone who either didn't know what they were doing or did the bare minimum to get you off the phone.

We are still in the beginning stages of using Egencia, as we are the first affiliate of a global company to initiate this program. We believe it will centralize travel bookings, receipts, etc. in order to make travel easier for our associates/employees and also allow us to gain more knowledge of how our team travels/see where we might have more negotiating power when it comes to the different carriers (airlines, hotels, etc.).
  • Building complete itineraries
  • Tracking group travel
  • Making sure seats that are booked are correct/not changed.
  • Making reservations that gain points/status are more clearly defined.
Egencia is not the best for basic economy flights; they are not displayed. It is good to centralize/link itineraries and receipts, especially for multi-city or international travel. Being able to see bookings for groups of travelers is helpful as well.
The representatives I have dealt with have been very prompt and helpful for any issue I've approached them with.

Egencia is being used throughout most of the organization.
  • Quick flight choices
  • Easy pay
  • While in a users trip you are unable to click to see the profile.
  • It should advise you before you try to pay that the trip is not available.
With the ease of use of the site, even the beginning traveler can get through it quickly.
My support is my account manager, Andrew Lerchen. He provides the best customer service around.

Great tool for expenses

Egencia is being used for corporate expenses. Everyone employed in the company in need to expense travel, business meals, phone bills, internet, and others would do it directly through Egencia. It was used through the entire company and helped streamline the approval process from employee to direct manager, then to the finance department.
  • Streamlined process
  • Ease of use
  • Scale
  • Categories
It was really well suited for me to download my phone bill directly with a picture where it was capturing amounts and information directly from it. It was really easy to submit my expenses and get reimbursed in a timely manner by my company. A scenario where the app crashed happened but this is purely technical.
I have not been involved with any product support or troubleshooting; however we had an issue where the app or website were down for some time and they were able to resolve the issue and have it back up and running pretty fast so i would say that overall support is pretty good!

Our company is using Egencia to easily book corporate travel for internal meetings (ie. kick-off, training, etc.) and external meetings with prospective and current customers.
  • Booking flights and hotels.
  • Trip approvals.
  • Accessing a customer service representative during trip cancellation or interruptions.
  • Approval process is confusing (ie. understanding if the trip is officially booked before sending the calendar invite).
Egencia is great for corporate teams that are looking to easily manage and book work trips. This tool gives leadership insight into trip bookings and approvals for a budget. The tool gives sales reps the autonomy to choose hotels and flights that work best with their preferences and schedules based on the allocated budget from leadership.
Over the past 5 years, I've only had a couple of issues with flight cancellations and trip interruptions. Although the Egencia team was friendly and helpful, it would have been easier for me to re-book my flights or deal with the airlines directly while at the airport. This would have cut out a lot of the back and forth communication.

In my company Egencia was used across the whole organisation. Each of the employees was booking hotel or transportation via Egencia website for every business travel. We were doing it on our own by logging on the website, searching for the options we were interested in and confirming our choice.
  • Wide portfolio of options
  • Good prices for services
  • Sufficient details about the options
  • When there were problems with flight (cancelled / rescheduled), Egencia was not helpful to clarify it with the airline
  • Different availability depending on the region you are logging in from
Egencia is well suited for companies with many employees who travel often for business and want to provide flexibility to the employees on various accommodation and travel options. If you want to allow your employees to make their own choice in terms of travel that is the tool for your organisation.
When I had a problem with cancelled and rescheduled flight Egencia team was not helpful at all. They claimed that in their system the flight is still happening hence they will not advise on anything else. I had to spend a lot of time calling the airline to clarify the details and to find out when my flight is happening in the end.

Egencia is used across our organization to book travel for all travel in Canada and in the USA. It helps us track all travel in one system and we know where our staff is. We use it to book flights, hotels, and rental cars online. They also provide support if our staff have issues with their flights.
  • Intuitive to use - similar to any other travel booking site.
  • Being the go-between between the traveler and the air provider.
  • On the homepage, there are travel alerts. It is a one-stop-shop for travel bookings and planning.
  • It would be nice if they would include the ultra-low-cost air providers.
  • If you need to cancel a flight and get a credit issued, it is very complicated to understand how they calculate the credit and then to use it.
It is well suited for a corporate environment where you aren't on a strict budget. If you are a non-profit and have policies about using low-cost providers, then it won't be ideal. It is well-suited for organizations who need to book flights, hotels, and cars. It literally takes 5 minutes to make all those arrangements. I don't believe it is the greatest for booking international travel.
I haven't had much need to contact Egencia support, but I have heard really good things from co-workers. They problem solve for the customer. I was on a trip one time where the airline canceled our flight and Egencia worked to ensure that I got on another flight. It is like having a travel agent working on our behalf.

We use Egencia for all of our employee travel bookings. We book Hotels, Flights, and Car Rentals through Egencia. It is primarily used within our sales and marketing department, who tend to travel more often, but it is available to all employees should they need to book travel for training, conferences, or other business related travel. This helps keep track of expenses and also get the proper approvals from managers and the financial department.
  • Egencia is an all-in-one booking tool so you can keep everything in once place.
  • Egencia works with SAML, so it's easy for users to get set up and logged in.
  • Egencia helps keep things in order by preventing bookings without the approval of managers. This can help keep costs low as well.
  • Technical support has been hit or miss. It can take days to hear back from anyone.
  • There have been some glitches in the software that prevent an approved, booked hotel or flight from being seen by the user, or different hotels show up with the same search criteria. A room shows as available, and then when you try and book it, it's no longer available, only to be available again, and then you are able to book it. It hasn't been entirely dependable.
Small to medium-sized companies that are growing, where travel happens a lot with a lot of employees, being able to effectively manage travel arrangements is where Egencia's strengths are most noticeable. The cost of the service might not be justifiable for small companies who don't travel very much, or where not very many people are traveling.

We use Egencia when we need to book travel accommodations. Every employee that travels gets to sign up with an account, and so far, it has been easy and very useful! There are a vast number of flight choices, and support replies within minutes. I highly recommend it to offices that need to set up travel accommodations for their employees.
  • Technical support
  • User-friendly
  • Vast amount of choices
  • Flight choices
  • Confirmation emails are not sent
  • Availability of other airlines
It is very much appropriate for businesses that need to set their employees up for travel accommodations because it is so easy to set up a trip and book what is necessary. All of the expenses will all be charged through the company which is so much more convenient than paying for it yourself and waiting to get reimbursed. It just needs some work with the flight and airline choices!

We use Egencia for price comparison shopping. It is also the tool used by our employees when the support staff, that handles booking travel, is not available. It allows things to be charged to a corporate credit card so that the employees do not have to use their own money and then get reimbursed.
  • Price comparisons - easy to use to get price comparisons for the major airlines.
  • Rental car bookings - we use it to book a lot of our car rentals because we are able to see the best choices as well as have it set up to use the direct bill feature.
  • Easy to book multiple travels on the same itinerary.
  • It would be easier if we could go directly to the airline and/or hotel to cancel or change something rather than having to go through Egencia.
  • We cannot easily see when your employees will NOT be getting their reward points for hotel or car rentals due to policy restrictions.
Overall, Egencia is a good tool for my employees to use when I (or my work partner) aren't available to make the reservations. They can easily access their account and the charges will go on the corporate credit card. This makes it all around easy for the traveling employees.

All employees use Egencia to book flights, hotels, and rental cars. This helps us to keep costs lower and keeps everyone using the same format for expenses. Egencia allows all employees to compare flights (airlines, airplanes, flight times, etc) and compare hotels (location, amenities, room types, etc). Because we're all booking at the same place, we get lower rates than by going directly to the hotel or airline. The really nice part is if/when you get stranded at an airport, you can call Egencia and they will help you. They find you a different flight, a car, or a hotel to get you out of that airport! Personal experience: Atlanta, Delta, April 2017: people were stranded for more than 3 days, Egencia had me home in 12 hours! Yes, 12 hours late, and without luggage, but I wasn't stuck at an airport!
  • Lowest prices! I shop around and around and around when I do personal travel, and I never find cheaper prices than what Egencia has.
  • Their agents care! They understand that you don't handle travel for a living. They go out of their way to help you!
  • The system is SO easy to use! I train on people how to use online systems, this system doesn't need any kind of training. You can book multiple flights, cars, and hotels in one trip or one car. It's simple and takes very little time.
  • Could tell me where I can earn points for more than one program (earn for car and hotel or car and airline). That would be great! Someone could make money doing that!
I really can't say enough about Egencia. Between it being easy to use, finding the best prices, having great representatives to help you when you need it, it doesn't get any better!

Egencia is used globally for travel arrangements. It has made it easier for end-users to comply with the travel & expenses policy and helps save money thanks to special pricing found through the platform.
  • Automatically applies the company's travel & expenses policy
  • Access to better prices
  • Works with other platforms, like Microsoft, and adds travel details to your calendar automatically
  • The computer website interface is confusing at the beginning
  • Mobile app could use some revamping to be more user-friendly
It's better for air travel, not as effective for hotel bookings though.

Egencia is our company-wide platform for booking travel. It's required for booking flights, rental cars, train tickets, and hotels for business trips. Every employee is required to use Egencia for any business travel needs, mainly for two reasons. 1. It helps the company track all employee travel (for safety reasons). 2. The company has negotiated rates with preferred partners that are available only by booking through Egencia.
  • Filters flight options based on preference such as time, airline, or cost.
  • Easily stores and tracks itineraries and receipts.
  • Recommends hotel option close to corporate offices.
  • I'd like to see Early Bird Check-In capabilities for Southwest airlines. At least in our business, that's not currently an option.
  • Booking multi-city trips could be a bit easier. Right now, I've found better pricing and luck booking separate one-way tickets vs. multi-city itineraries. Maybe I'm just missing something, but perhaps the filtering/search should be improved.
  • In general, search results seem to favor the Big 3 airlines, even when pricing may be lowering (or more directs may be available) on airlines like Southwest.
  • For some reason, the $5 Egencia booking fee doesn't appear on the itinerary/receipts. This can be problematic when submitting expense reports.
Overall, I don't have too many complaints about Egencia. It's much better than the system we used to use for booking travel. The user interface is pretty intuitive, and there's an even an option to download and use the mobile app for booking. I like having all my itineraries stored in one place. I like that my seat preferences and TSA Precheck number, and frequent flier rewards numbers are all stored in the system and automatically applied to reservations.
