American Public University System (APUS) announced that Dr. Wade T. Dyke will be leaving APUS as President to pursue a new endeavor and that Dr. Katherine Zatz, the former Chairwoman of the APUS Board of Trustees, has been appointed Acting President, effective November 4, 2021. A nationwide search for a permanent replacement is being launched.

American Public University System (APUS) and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office have signed an agreement enabling graduates of California’s Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) programs from 116 community colleges to seamlessly transfer to APUS as a junior – with no loss of credit.

American Public University System (APUS) has appointed Dr. Katherine Zatz to chair its Board of Trustees, effective August 1. A long-time board member, Dr. Zatz succeeds Board Chairman General Alfred M. Gray (retired), the 29th Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, who is stepping down as a trustee.

West Virginia Public Broadcasting profiles the American Public University System (APUS) as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Though the school is based in the state, it serves thousands of active-duty military members, veterans, and family members nationwide. APUS, a higher education organization including American Military University and American Public University, the school system is the 4th largest employer in West Virginia. Its stated purpose is helping active-duty military members and veterans transition back into the workforce, with both schools’ educational programs being completely online.
