  • It USED to be free. Now if you have ANY ads on your pages, they want you to pay for the plugin. You have to check a box agreeing that you don’t have ads. I thought about paying $1 but on second thought, phooey on them. That’s just cheating and it’s LOW. They can’t make enough on actual COMMERCIAL sites?

@janelwashere We’ve always categorized sites that run ads as commercial, not personal.

Free keys are for personal, non-commercial sites only — no exceptions. If your site has advertising or affiliate links, sells products or services, solicits donations or sponsorships, or is in any way related to a for-profit business or educational organization — your site is considered commercial.

We rely on site owners to be upfront about their site and usage, but we also do periodic audits of websites to make sure they’re complying with our Terms of Service and will reach out to site owners if we find they’re not using the correct plan.

    Hope that clarifies things.
