Installation

Important: First of all, you have to download and activate WooCommerce plugin, because without it YITH WooCommerce Ajax Search cannot work.

  1. Unzip the downloaded .zip file.
  2. Upload the YITH WooCommerce Ajax Search folder into the wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress site.
  3. Activate YITH WooCommerce Ajax Search from Plugins page

Configuration

YITH WooCommerce Ajax Search will add a new tab called “Ajax Search” in “YITH” menu. There, you will find all YITH plugins and you will be able to access quickly plugin settings page.

FAQ

Is it compatible with all WordPress themes?

Compatibility with all themes is impossible, because they are too many, but generally if themes are developed according to WordPress and WooCommerce guidelines, YITH plugins are compatible with them.
Yet, we can grant compatibility with themes developed by YITH, because they are constantly updated and tested with our plugins. Sometimes, especially when new versions are released, it might only require some time for them to be all updated, but you can be sure that they will be tested and will be working in a few days.

How can I get support if my WooCommerce plugin is not working?

If you have problems with our plugins or something is not working as it should, first follow this preliminary steps:

  • Test the plugin with a WordPress default theme, to be sure that the error is not caused by the theme you are currently using.
  • Deactivate all plugins you are using and check if the problem is still occurring.
  • Ensure that you plugin version, your theme version and your WordPress and WooCommerce version (if required) are updated and that the problem you are experiencing has not already been solved in a later plugin update.

What are the main changes in plugin translation?

Recently YITH WooCommerce Ajax Search has been selected to be included in the “translate.wordpress.org” translate programme.
In order to import correctly the plugin strings in the new system, we had to change the text domain form ‘yit’ to ‘yith-woocommerce-ajax-search’.
Once the plugin will be imported in the translate.wordpress.org system, the translations of other languages will be downloaded directly from WordPress, without using any .po and .mo files. Moreover, users will be able to participate in a more direct way to plugin translations, suggesting texts in their languages in the dedicated tab on translate.wordpress.org.
During this transition step, .po and .mo files will be used as always, but in order to be recognized by WordPress, they will need to have a new nomenclature, renaming them in:

  • yith-woocommerce-ajax-search-[WORDPRESS LOCALE].po
  • yith-woocommerce-ajax-search-[WORDPRESS LOCALE].mo

useful options and tools. but here is the issue : 1.you cant design the search box like remove button , put a magnifier or any icon you want. 2.you cant design the search box background color.even with css code. Because the plugin WONT Listen to you AT ALL. 3.you cant design borders. 4.you cant make an automatic search.

The plugin is deliberately undercooked to get you to pay extortionate prices for their Pro versions which are ludicrously priced - $1000 a year lol You look back through the reviews here and most of the 5* reviews are from a few years ago and were made by YITH staff members. How is this even allowed to manipulate the ratings like this? A look through the other reviews of their plugins on wordpress.org shows a similar story. 5* reviews by YITH's own team. Stay clear. Any company manipulating their own reviews like that are not to be trusted. And shame on WordPress own team for turning a blind eye to this company.

i use this plugin since one year and it's really work. we can customize and manage option of the plugin to do what we want i use the premium version

Cannot search on custom fields

Unfortunately the search bar cannot search through custom fields like the ACF fields. Even the pro version can't. Dissapointing because there are free plugins that can.

Do not use Yith Ajax Search

Fatal Error to website. This plugin update disabled my Wordpress Dashboard. Fatal Error Logs were recorded in WooCommerce and sent to Yith, but they will not support the free version of this plugin that is bundled with Yith Essential Kit for WooCommerce.
