Note[edit]

I've removed the reference to actors and crew as a director need not use actors (such as w/ an documentary) or a crew (as in a personally shot film). Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:19, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

I renamed this property to simply "director", so it could be used by other items like video games. --#Reaper (talk) 19:06, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Should P57 be restricted to Q5 or also accept groups of people[edit]

Currently the human (Q5) constraint generates a lot of violations because a lot of directors are groups of people (eg duo (Q10648343) or sibling duo (Q14073567)). These groups can be split up into the individual members, but to do that manually that's a lot of work. So I filed a bot request. There is a discussion on that page if we indeed should restrict to Q5 or accept the groups as well. If anyone has an opinion please give your opinion on the bot request page (to keep the discussion in 1 place). Otherwise the Q5 constraint should be amended and the sex or gender (P21) constraint should be removed (as the groups violate that constraint as well). Template Generic queries for filmmakers[edit]

I've designed a new template based on P57 : {{Generic queries for filmmakers}}.

French label[edit]

Following this request for comments, I try to find a good solution for this one.

I see two options :

Which one do you prefer? --PAC2 (talk) 21:15, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
