He was 15 minutes early. My dryer was heating nor drying my laundry. He looked at the dryer and within 15 to 20 minutes later he diagnosed the problem as a dryer sensor. He left for an hour and he returned with a dyer sensor part. The drydr works great.

RICH CORTEZ APPLIANCE REPAIR
5.0
When I first called Rich about a problematic dryer, he was kind enough to advise me how I could determine if the problem was with the dryer or the venting. After doing the assessment myself and determining the problem was with the dryer, he came out and took care of the repair for me. He was punctual and a good communicator.

Our clothes dryer was not warming up much, even after a few hours in the dryer the clothes were not dry. I called to schedule an appointment, but the person I talked to told me what the problem was over the phone -- the flap on our dryer vent was plugged up, I unplugged it and the dryer started working again. I was not charged for their diagnosis of the problem.

Johe did a great job fixing our dryer -- categorical success. He arrived maybe 30 second late for the appointment and apologized for keeping me waiting. Super nice guy. Johe quickly identified the problem with our gas dryer (igniter was worn out). He sourced a replacement for the igniter, returned with it and very soon our dryer was back in great working order. He also saw that we had a lot of lint build up inside the machine (16 old dryer) which he cleaned for us. Next time I need an appliance repaired Johe is the first person I will call.

Scott The Fix It Guy

Scott got the dryer fixed quickly and it's up and running. I'd decided to fix it rather than get a new dryer. Scott confirmed that the 30 plus-year old Kenmore was worth keeping. I'm very happy!

THE COMPANY IS A BIT HARD ON THE ASSISTANTS, BUT THE OVERALL JOB WAS REALLY GOOD. THE DRYER WENT OUT, AND THEY CAME OUT IMMEDIATELY, AND REPAIRED THE DRYER. I THOUGHT THEY DID A GREAT JOB.

Primer Appliance Service

After trying the experiments, the clothes still wasn't drying thoroughly enough. It was quite odd that the dryer would heat-up, but not hot enough to dry even one damp towel. I called Primer Appliance to follow-up but did not get a call back. In the meantime, a friend came over and opened up the dryer to look. He did not find anything peculiar. However, the dryer exhaust was hooked back up and it now seems to work fine. Although Primer Appliance did not fix the dryer, I would call them back if I had any problems as I felt the repairman was knowledgable and trustworthy.

Jose was amazing, he showed up promptly, figured out the problem immediately, replaced the parts necessary and was great at explaining the problem. I would 1000% use Hose again if I need another repair job done. I’ve actually already referred a neighbor his way!

SEARS

Arrived late. Washer repair ok. Moved dryer to access washer. When dryer put back in place, failed to replace vent on back of dryer and failed to plug dryer in to power. They refused to take the parts removed from the washer. Left a heavy box 30"x30"x24". I had to have the local scavenger haul it away. I won't patronize Sears again.

Jose was prompt, efficient and reasonable. He arrived right around the time he had committed to, the repair cost was on the low end of his estimate which is always a pleasant surprise and he fixed it and got it up and running in 30 minutes. He is very knowledgeable and also very creative to work within the circumstances.

Mr Phan was great. Our dryer was not heating. Cool air only. First he checked out the dryer and figured out what the problem was. During his check he also brought to other issues to our attention. First that we needed to have our circuit breaker changed to a higher rating to accommodate this dryer. And second that our dryer vent needed to be cleaned out (possible fire hazard). He was very helpful.

I had a dishwasher that wasn't draining properly and a gas clothes dryer that wasn't drying properly. Rich arrived on time and was very thorough and friendly. He ran the dishwasher through a full cycle and and inspected the motor and seals. He found that everything was working properly but had suggestions for me to troubleshoot. For the gas dryer he cleaned out the filter and cleaned the blower, duct and filter housing and he cleaned the outdoor exhaust. The dryer is working well .

Our dryer stopped working and we called Home Guard. Alpine called us on the holiday to book the appointment. They showed up on time, were extremely professional and fixed the problem. They gave us a referral to get the dryer vent replaced so that our dryer wouldn't break down/overheat again. I recommend them highly.

Our dryer quit working. My handyman husband located the problem, a bad thermal fuse. Atom Appliance not only had the part in stock but also the information to replacing it and suggested the thermostat also be replaced as the most likely cause of the fuse problem. The dryer works fine.

Dryer went out. Called company and arranged to have a service man call. He came on schedule and diagnosed the problem as a faulty timer switch. He told us what the new timer would cost installed and what a new dryer would cost.

Dryer Repair Near You

The lowly home clothes dryer performs its work day in and day out without much thanks. Until it breaks down, and you need to tackle dryer repair.

Common Problems Leading to Dryer Repair

The #1 problem for most dryer issues is a clogged dryer vent.

Be sure to clean the lint trap with every load, vacuum out the lint area inside the dryer, and annually disconnect the dryer vent pipe to clean it out.

Other common problems:

  • Faulty timer
  • Malfunctioning terminal block
  • Balky motor
  • Broken drum belt
  • Worn-out roller
  • Bad temperature switch
  • Broken thermostat
  • Bad start switch

If you read that list and have no idea what part is what, use this list of dryer repair services near you to contact a top pro. On the other hand, most dryer parts are available through the internet, so you may be able to handle repairs yourself. That brings up an important question:

Do It Myself or Hire a Pro Near Me?

Get professional repair help if in doubt. Most of us cannot handle DIY dryer repairs.

But if you are handy, you can attempt to handle some dryer repairs yourself. Remember most people end up doing more damage to their appliance when they attempt DIY repairs. Here are a few tips:

  • Always remember to turn off circuit breakers or disconnect fuses before poking around.
  • For many repair problems, a multi-meter, screwdrivers, nut drivers or an adjustable wrench may get your appliance up and drying again.
  • Parts diagrams and owner's manuals are available online.
  • Many forums offer tips on parts replacement.
  • Of course, know your dryer brand and specific model numbers before ordering parts online, as many are not returnable.
  • Start with the easiest, least intrusive repairs before disassembling your machine.
