Walt's Mobile Locksmith

He was good. He did what he said he was going to do. He showed up when they said he was going to. His price seemed to be fair.

A ACME MOBILE LOCKSMITH
5.0
A Acme responded immediately and made an appointment for the first time I would be available at the home. Frank was just as polite and professional as he was timely, exceeding all expectations. Frank offered to take off his shoes indoors, re-keyed all the locks to the same key, and instructed me on the types of door locks at the house (while this may seem odd, the locks on the double french doors are European and take a specific sequence to lock properly). The price was more than reasonable and the service was extraordinary.

South County Lock & Safe
5.0
Randy, the owner, came out right away and did the work. His truck is a mobile locksmith shop so he has everything he needs to get the job done when he arrives. He made sure that all the keys worked. We have used South County Lock and Safe for over 15 years for our office and our home. Randy is very professional and has always been there the same day if it's a security issue.

Econolock
5.0
After a death in the family, I was cleaning up a property in May. I first met the Econolock owner when I locked myself out of said property. He was able to open (without damaging) a difficult to open/placed 30+ year front door old lock (this detail is important later in the story). I later called him out to change some locks in the garage (from the kitchen and back door to the garage) because liked his professionalism, pricing, experience, efficiency, and had zero concerns as a woman on the property alone that I'd be safe. He had earned my trust. This is the service I am mentioning in this report. When I later locked myself out (again) in August late on a Sunday afternoon I discovered that it's fairly difficult to find a mobile locksmith at that time of day. Unfortunately Econolock is closed on Sundays. The guy who did come could not get into the same front door lock without completely damaging the lock, insisting I needed a new handle/lock, and drilling my door so that it now looks horrible and has two deadbolts on it. I don't even want to talk about what that idiot charged me all the while rationalizing that I needed the work. As far as I am concerned the problem was he was either too inexperienced or just an outright crook. Stick with Econolock!! . . . and try not to let your grief keep you from repeatedly locking yourself out of the house . . .

SAN JOSE SAFE & LOCK
5.0
A year ago I needed a mobile locksmith service. In talking with the locksmith during the visit, I inquired about other services that I might need in the future and found out that this locksmith was strictly mobile, but for brick-and-mortar/walk-in service he recommended San Jose Safe and Lock. So recently when I messed up a Kwikset Smartkey knobset during the rekeying process I took the knobset into SJ Safe and Lock. I was waited on immediately and cordially. Once he had a sense of what I needed, he pulled the tool/device he required off the shelf, and after a brief pause to mentally review the process, he had the knobset set to my key in less than a minute. No charge. I am still amazed that he would have the kindness to do the work for free given that the advantage of a Kwikset Smartkey system is the cost of a locksmith is taken out of the rekeying process. So a couple days later, when I was restoring a second hand desk that I picked up I decided to pull the lock on the file drawer and take it to SJ Safe and Lock to have it picked and keyed. Again I received immediate and friendly service. I told him that I wanted the lock picked and keyed. He pulled a brand new, exact match for the lock out of his inventory and said that he could sell me the new lock (with two keys) for $6 which was much less than the cost of the pick-and-key service. I am dollars ahead for having gone into his shop, never waited for service, and probably spent more time walking from my car to the counter than it took him to serve me each time.

Lew's Peninsula Lock & Key
5.0
I think that he is mobile; you can call him and he will come out. I think he also has a small shop. I have used him for years. He came out to fix a lock at my mother?s place. She had also lost her car key. So, he did the car key, while he was there. He is easy-going. He has been in business since 1970?s. I just love him. I send him to all my tenants. He even helped my sister, when she got locked out of her house. He went and let her in. He has a New York accent. He is very pleasant and very qualified. He knows the advanced lock systems. He is very good at dealing with my tenants. He is very funny and charming. He really knows his stuff. Since I have a lot of rental units, I have used him on several occasions over the years. The tenants are very comfortable with him. He gives them what they need, but he always makes sure to ask me first about the charges.
