Boston Attic Fan Installation

Excellent. Stephen and Nick did a great job and even when there was a slight unexpected problem requiring more time to finish the job they stood by their original estimate. Very satisfied and will recommend to others.

I'm very happy with the services I received yesterday from Nelson and his employee. They called 15 minutes before they arrived, and were very professional upon arrival and throughout the job. In fact, Nelson was quite personable, which was a refreshing change from what I'm used to when dealing with contractors. All of my questions were answered in a straightforward manner, which is also a refreshing change from most contractors. I mentioned to Nelson some additional work I need done, and he said he'd send me an estimate for the additional work. I hope he does, as I am very impressed with his work ethic and hope to have him back again to do more work on the house.

Work was done well without problems. Only slight negative is that he had to reschedule due to another job, but was easy to work with to find a suitable time.

Mark and his journeyman showed up on time and performed the job quickly and with care. They installed two previously purchased ceiling fans and an attic fan I had them purchase. The work was complete within 2 hours and they were very courteous and respectful. They cleaned up after they were done and answered all of my questions about future electrical work I was interested in. I plan on having them out in the next week or two to install a bathroom fan and a whole home surge protector. This will be followed up in the next few months with wiring for a generator.

I used to live in Maryland where every house has an attic fan. I relocated to Lexington, MA in Aug 2012, and moved into a 60-years-old cape in May 2013. This house did not have an attic fan. The upper level was very hot because of the heat coming down from the attic. The window AC couldn't cool down the rooms. Steve installed an attic fan and an inlet the next day after I called. I could feel the difference immediately. The suffocating heat was gone. There was a urine-like odor in the upper level before the installation. I did not know where it came from. The odor was also gone after the attic fan was installed. That odor must have come from the hot and humid air trapped in the attic for 60 years. Now the air in my attic is fresh and clean. Steve called me about a month later to find out if everything was okay. I complained about the noise from the fan. He came the next day and switched the position of the fan and the inlet with no charge. The noise was reduced to a very low hum. Steve and his assistant were very professional. They arrived at the scheduled time, completed the installation in about 2 hours (when the outdoor temperature was in the 90s and the temperature in the attic was 140), and cleaned up before they left. Before the installation, the window AC could not cool down the room. Now, I am saving on energy bills. The money was well spent.

They came out the day after I called and showed up at the time they said they would. He took a ladder to get into our attic and examine the attic fan which had stopped working. He discovered that the problem was only a loose bolt which he tightened and showed me how to fix should it get loose again. The whole thing took about 15 minutes and he charged me the lowest fee possible (basically just covering the trip to our place). They also do big jobs (ie, central air) and when we next need an electrician we're going to use them.

Very well. We got quotes from many people who were not very familiar with these products, then chose this company that does this exclusively: this quote was (very) significantly lower than the others, and the job was very well (and quickly) done.

Dave came and looked at the job, got the parts he needed, and installed them several days later. It took a little over a week beginning to end.

Dave purchased the new fans and thermostats and then set up a day to install them. It was about a week from the time he first inspected the fans to the date he installed them (Maty 6, 2014). In early July, I checked the fans and noticed that one of them was working fine and the other was not. I waited a few more days for a good hot day and checked again several times. Same thing, one working and one not. I called Dave on Tuesday July 8th and sent him an email. He responed immediately via email that he was on vacation, but could look at it when he came back on Saturday July 12th. He arrived Saturday morning as planned and fixed the problem immediately. It problem was simply that the thermostats were not in sync, so one would turn on, cool the attic, and the second was never reaching the temperature required to activate it. The fix was very quick, and of course, there was no charge.

Brian Rayne is an excellent electrician; he and his crew is very professional and punctual. We hired Brian to install fan and light fixtures, he completed the job in a very reasonable time frame with good price. Will hire him again.
