Deck Builders did a wonderful Job on our deck. Kim was very helpful with the design and showed us several options to the design that we would have never thought of ourselves. We ended up choosing one of the designs he provided, It is the same square feet as what we thought of, just a different layout that we really enjoy. His crew was very friendly and professional. They answered any questions we had and made sure everything was done correctly. Punctuality was marked B only because there were some timing issues due to more than one project being worked on. Kim and crew were always prompt, there were just a couple of days only one or two could be here. Over all I cant recommend Deck Builders enough. A friend of mine saw our deck and how it was constructed and also hired Deck Builders. These guys build high quality decks!

Jose and Ray tore out my old wood deck and replaced it with a beautiful composite deck with metal railings. Jose is a craftsman. He shows up when he says he will; he is respectful and super hard working; it's obvious he takes great pride in his finished product. They scheduled quickly and completed the deck in 5 days. I have a tremendous amount of respect for these gentlemen and would definitely hire again.

Schedule a meeting and postpone it twice, once 1 hour before due time. Very slow response time, sometimes not responding at all to messages/emails. Unprofessional attitude.

Checked Angie's List in my area for top rated deck builders. Based on their very high ratings I decided to call West Coast Decks for a quote. Joel came out and measured the job. He reviewed with me the different types of decking materials available and the approx. costs. He also left me with some material samples. I asked Joel to quote with several different options. In about a week or so, Joel got back to me with a quote. By that time I had already decided that I wanted Azek PVC decking with Trex Transcends railing and LED post cap lighting. Joel revised his quote. The project was then started in a couple of days. The sub contractor that did the actual work was named William. A very hard worker. In pouring rain, snow, and hail, he worked over 10 hours a day without a break. The deck was completed in 4 days. Workmanship is top notch. I love my new low maintenance deck! I highly recommend West Coast Decks.

Very thinly veiled attempt to up-sell me a very expensive deck. They did show up as promised, seemed quite capable, brought material samples, etc. However, they only do new decks, not repairs so the $500.00 credit could only be used to pay toward a new deck. They did do a design - which they used to price a new deck and did not leave with me. The deck they proposed was nearly $17,000.00. It was one level, not up off the ground more than the 3 feet that would require permits, only 12 feet of railing. I've since had estimates between 5-7K. They didn't claim they'd be the least expensive but I couldn't help but feel they were significantly overpriced. I would not be purchasing their services nor recommending them to anyone else.

Recent Review: House was going to be put on market soon, needed a few improvements to help sell. The company was referred to me by my father-in-law. My budget was around 40,000 dollars in exterior improvements to attract more buyers. Major improvements had been done on interior but deck was falling apart, and roof was aged and soon for a leak. The contract written up was within our budget. Went with certainteed landmark tl & cedar wood deck. Called a few other places, but they were worth the money. Everything about our experience with this company was excellent. They were very clear about their policies and the time line for the work, etc. so there were no surprises. They were on time, polite & they cleaned up everything. Most importantly the quality of their work is excellent. The roof & deck look great!

Recent Review: Mike and his crew built us a beautiful composite deck. Mike in the design phase had very creative ideas like installing the deck floor at an angle and adding shutters on the privacy wall. Attention to detail from the crew and idea changes during the build process from myself were all accomplished. Russ, Ben, Gabe and Josh built us a composite deck that is absolutely a work of art. This deck will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Recent Review: Pressure washed, prepped, and painted the exterior of my home and painted the back deck. Afterward, the house paint needed to be retouched and fixed in some areas. New siding was installed just prior to the paint job, but they did not caulk the nail heads, which I feel should have been part of the prep work. Nick and Jack do a great job, their paint bid was cheap, the service was fast. Jack and Nick suggested several additional handyman-type chores, which we were happy to have fixed. Beware these "extras" because not only do they add up fast, but I was disappointed in the quality of these side repairs. I suspect this is because the work was done by auxillary workers and not one of the principals. The deck stain was not completed because rain interfered with the drying time. I had to request that they come back for this, as well as repaint the doors and touch-up small drips and things. Afterward, we complained about the new deck paint-and-sealant product used. The deck looks painted (when we wanted it stained), and it looks splotchy. Unfortunately, complaints were not well-received by Jack or Nick. We were told that we're too picky. Sorry, but after dropping $6,500, I think I have the right to be picky.

Recent Review: Tim Fike did an excellent job getting the deck painting scheduled, and his guys did an excellent job redoing my deck. It looks almost new now, and it's an old deck! It had been refinished several times over the years, and the existing color was too red and did not look good adjacent to my home's paint color. I didn't think a stain would work to cover it, but Tim gave me some good suggestions to go and see deck stain colors available at a paint store. That was excellent advice as I learned there were many more colors than just the standard fan deck of stain colors I originally saw. I found the color I wanted, and the deck painting work was done efficiently and professionally. I waited a week for the deck stain to cure, and I'm amazed how my old deck now looks so good. I worried that my deck was too far gone to get results like this. One of the nicest things about SP&D was Tim's professional customer service and friendly demeanor. He was always polite on the phone, listened to my many questions and concerns, and gave me very good suggestions. He went the extra mile throughout. The results were better than I hoped for! It's rare to use a service company that is so customer oriented and I really appreciated it.

Recent Review: The deck was approximately 12’ x 6’ with 8 stairs to the patio. The construction individuals that came to the house and did the work were fantastic. This was a priority job (which is part of the problem later described). The men were on time and worked very hard to get the project completed. They were fantastic and I would hire that crew again in a minute. The issue with the job may have been due to my not knowing the questions to ask or how some of the terminology used would affect the outcome. This small deck cost approximately $17000 to complete. The supervisors came out and added parts that they said needed to be completed which included removing a sliding door - then reinstalling, removing the siding on the outside wall of the house and replacing and redoing wiring. When I contacted the company and expressed that I needed to have it done relatively quickly I believed that the job would take 2-3 days maximum and believed the cost would be $25 an hour more than normal. I was not aware that it would be $25 more an hour for each person who was on the job site - which ranged from 3 - 5 people depending on the day. When I questioned the replacement of the siding I was told that was the only way that they could guarantee the work. The siding was not in bad shape - not split or coming off. The construction personnel made the comment that they were not sure why it was coming off. The job that I believed would be 2-3 days was 7-8 days and kept getting more expensive. I wish that they would have come out talked with me about the project and given a true bid for the work prior to starting. I have learned a great deal about this process and have learned not to use this construction company again.

Recent Review: The CertaPro (of North Seattle) painters did a very thorough job of prepping and painting. There was a minor problem with paint adhesion in some spots on the deck which, but they did a thorough job of investigating and reworking the problem areas. The finished garage and deck looks great!

Recent Review: Rob came out and did the estimate. I liked his approach and attention to detail. It took a few calls and emails during their busy season to get on their calendar, but once we did everything was smooth. Rob personally inspected the job, found a few issues which were corrected immediately, and even came back one more time for final inspection. I don't think Potts is the cheapest in town, but they do a great job and I would definitely hire them again.

Recent Review: Allen did a great job with the remodel! One of my primary job functions at work is to manage various pipeline construction projects as a project manager so I work with many different contractors. This is also the second house I've had major remodeling done. Though this isn't a pipeline construction project, the interaction was pretty much the same. After getting 5 different quotes from some of the top-rated contractors, revising the scope of work a few times and haggling for the best price, I can tell you that you're going to get the biggest bang for your buck with this Contractor. As with most customers, I had a tight deadline with a narrow budget, and required quality work. When it comes to project management, there are typically 3 project goals. 1. On Time 2. Within Budget 3. High Quality of Work Typically you can successfully get 2 of the 3 but with Allen, I felt like I pretty much got all 3. Allen and his crew worked diligently from start to finish and even worked some weekends to meet the deadline. He was personable, very flexible when I needed to change the scope of work and didn't nickel and dime me for every little change. Though there were some additional costs, it was very reasonable for the extra scope that was added. Based on all this, I would highly recommend Allen for any home remodel projects you might have. There were only 2 reasons why I initially considered not to go with Allen as it made me question the legitimacy of his business. 1. His quote had many misspelled words and grammar issues. 2. He didn’t seem comfortable with drawing up a legal contract, so I ultimately drew one up as I insisted we have a contract. These two reasons gave me reason for pause but I decided that the reasons don’t really reflect his craftsmanship abilities nor his work ethic or honesty which I believe to be more important for this line of work. Ultimately, I’m glad I was able to look pass these reasons as it resulted in great work that was completed on time and within budget!

Recent Review: I've used Green Builders for three projects: rebuilding a 550 sq ft deck, expanding a garage, and building a roof over the same deck. Throughout all projects, the team of people I worked with were knowledgeable, professional, and really a pleasure to have around my house (when having a team of strangers at your home can always go the opposite direction). The quality and care that goes into their work is exemplary. I've referred them to others that I know, and wouldn't hesitate to refer them to anyone.

Recent Review: Fleetwood Construction/owner Tyson is the best contractors we have ever hired. Tyson worked with us every step of the way to ensure we received the beautiful composite deck we were hoping for. He had creative ideas and an attention to detail that surpassed our expectations. He is very professional, responsive, and extremely honest. I would not hesitate to hire him again and recommend him to friends and families. My only regret is he doesn't do kitchens. :)

Recent Review: Great!! Our three story home had peeling paint and considerable surface mold (existing paint was over 12 years old) so it was obvious that surface prep was critical. This task and subsequent painting was completed with total attention to detail (including priming of bare wood) in spite of heights and very difficult to reach surfaces that needed work. This was no easy job but the results reflect the considerable time and professionalism provided by Ryan and crew. Many thanks for a tough job well done.

Recent Review: After searching through numerous pictures online my wife and I had chosen what we wanted. We really liked the no maintenance of the trex decking but definitely liked the look of a nice stained wood deck much more. We showed Cameron a picture of the deck and we came to the fact that what we wanted is a iron wood deck with a cable type railing system. First Cameron priced us out on both ways and we were definitely shocked to find out the difference in the cost. The cable railing and the ironwood upgrade definitely over doubled the cost from using a cedar deck and was even more than a complete composite decking system. We had seen a picture of iron wood and cable railings and we couldn't get away from it. That is what we wanted and we had to have it. We were nervous to pay that price for a deck but we understood the cost of the materials we wanted would significantly increase the cost. The deck looks beautiful and we are glad we paid more and got what we really wanted.
