Jim, Blake, Mike & Matt did excellent work with our HOA requirements and we have a beautiful cedar modified picture frame fence with 2 inch spacing between pickets. 3 gates are constructed well with reinforcements. Price was fair and we appreciated the way they made suggestions and honored my wishes. They were a fun crew and good to do business with. Payment was not due until satisfied with the outcome. I will definitely hire Covington Construction again for future needs.

It was a very cold day. Some of their equipment was not working so they had to do work arounds. I discovered they had only used one screw per picket - had not seen that before - called and they got a little testy with me -- said one screw holds better than two nails. I have an issue with the smaller gate - have tried to call but their phone is no longer taking messages and they have not responded to my email so far.

Recent Review:
I had several bids from different fence companies and did a lot of research before I chose Quality Fence. They certainly were not the cheapest, but they had good reviews and they were initially very accommodating and responsive with questions and providing estimates. The crew who arrived for the removal of my old fence and installation of posts were a far cry from the attentive staff I had been dealing on the phone. As I walked the perimeter with a few crew members to discuss the fence line, one of them was smoking a cigarette and exhaling smoke in my face. I chose not to make a big deal of it, but this is how the experience started. When they left for the day, there was debris in driveway and back yard and they left two large sections of my fence (with protruding nails) in the middle of my front lawn. I called the office to ask when they would be picking it up and they said they had a broken down truck so they were going to leave it there until they were scheduled to be back in 3 days. Needless to say, my grass died under the pile. I was out of town when they returned and put up the fence, and it all appeared to look fine. Upon further inspection, there were at least four posts that were loose in the ground and the fence would wobble back and forth under slight pressure. The main area of concern was the posts surrounding the gate were visibly loose in the ground. I called the office, emailed, and they finally sent out a crew member to take a look. He did make a repair to an edge that they had left unfinished and that looked great, but he argued that since the gate was “operable” that his boss said they would not do anything to fix it and he then referred me to the warranty. After he left, I called the office and expressed my dissatisfaction and asked to speak with Donnie, the owner. It took two phone calls as well as an email with videos of the wobbly fence in order to get attention. Donnie came out a week later and was in agreement that there was a problem, and promised resolution within the next two weeks. They came out as promised, dug out around posts, and filled with additional concrete. The quality of the repair was akin to a cook spitting in your food because you sent it back to the kitchen. A few of the posts looked fine but then several had concrete poured into a giant lumpy pile that extended up past the bottom of the fence pickets. It felt pretty spiteful. I am very unhappy and definitely do NOT recommend Quality Fence, as the work is far from quality.

When Mike arrived to give us a quote for a new privacy fence, the pros and cons of wood versus vinyl were discussed with absolutely no pressure tactics utilized whatsoever. The price was very competitive, and the vinyl we chose was a quality product. When it was time for the installation, the crew was extremely courteous, professional, and hard working. HD Fence LLCWork began on date promised even thought there was over a week of rainy weather before the job started. The crew showed up on time every morning and worked all day, and did not leave to work on other jobs while mine was underway. Workers were polite and professional. Unexpected problems were encountered, including poison ivy, but HD Fence did not add charges for the issues they encountered. I made last minute changes to the job that added probably a full day of work for 3 people, and the owner accommodated them without complaint. Post holes were dug without making a mess, and excess dirt was moved off the property. Removal of the existing chain link fence went well and nothing was torn up in the process. The new fence looks great; very straight and level; hinge, latch and wood fence materials were great quality. Everything one could ask for-quality work, no surprises, pleasant workers, great cleanup, and a nice looking fence. This is my second fence job with HD Fence, and I highly recommend this business.- David S.

HD Fence LLCTom was excellent to work with. He was upfront, honest, responsive, and fair with all of his dealings from cost to scheduling to actual fence installation. I was unsure about what kind of fence I wanted (wood vs composite) and Tom was very patient and helpful in guiding me through my options and delivering estimates for the various options. I settled on a 6' tall picket fence (~200 ft long) and I could not be happier with the results. The quality of material he used was top shelf and the quality of work performed was second-to-none. I had a couple sprinkler heads that were in the way of my fence posts and he even dug them up and relocated them at no extra cost. I have every confidence that, with the right maintenance, this fence will last 20+ years, but if I needed a similar project done on another property I would not hesitate to call Tom and HD Fence for any future work.- Andrew B.
