  There is not enough room on this site to write how thankful and appreciative we are to Shannon at PBJC! Upon our initial meeting with Shannon and Erich in June 2020, we were immediately impressed by the level of expertise, knowledge and professionalism they displayed,. They took a lot of time to sit and talk with us about our swimming pool needs and how we envisioned our new pool, and how we'd use it - including asking us about our "must have" list. They discussed line item by line item with us so we could weigh all the options to make our decision. After weeks of thoughtful consideration, input from family members and taking into account the potential for cost savings, we decided to hire another pool company who came in with lots of promises and a bid just under what PBJC proposed. WE'RE STILL REGRETTING THE DECISION to not hire PBJC!!! What a NIGHTMARE it's turned out to be with the OTHER pool company. We are now 12+ months into the pool project (yes you read that correctly, 12 months) with "the other guy" and are still not done. The other guy left off so many details from his estimate that we're now at the same price as what PBJC originally quoted us. (Top of the list of what wasn't included with "the other guy" : no electrical for the equipment, no footer, no water sanitization system?! Aren't these things a requirement to operate a pool? We have learned so much from this horrible experience.) We have buyer's remorse 100%. However, to our amazement when we contacted Shannon at PBJC in hopes of gaining a little advice, he went above and beyond with his expertise and his generosity of time and talent to help bail us out of this disastrous situation. There is something truly remarkable about a team who epitomize professionalism, have an affinity for their craft, and who consistently demonstrate overall integrity and kindness.   We actually decided to wait until next year to do it because it is kind of a pretty penny. There was a lot of stuff, but it was $32,000. I don’t know it it’s too high or not. We were going to get some other quotes to kind of put our toes in the water, they were the first people we got quotes from. It worked out great. Since they have great reviews, we’re going to trust their expertise, but we didn’t know if they are on the high end of prices. It’s the high price and the timing. It’s a new house, taking out a new mortgage for the first time, so we would just like to keep our little pocket money and kind of take a little time with the renovation

  I had an initial awkward experience with them, but then it became drastically better after meeting the owner. I had spoke to someone that did not inform me he was in the hospital and no one ever called me back so I gave them a poor review. He reached out to me and explained the situation. After that, he came over and did a phenomenal job. It was a great experience once he was able to get here and able to explain to me the delay in response to my request. He explained the process to me, and informed me that it was going to take several weeks from the time of the estimate and the actual model. He did say he was running substantially behind because of the recent hospitalization. As long as I was kept informed of what's going on, I was fine. He will inform you that he is among the most expensive companies, but does explain why. I think for the value of what he brings in is an "A". Price-wise, the consumer should know it is more of a "B". I would prefer to spend more money without having the headaches. He was phenomenal about explaining the pros and cons. We had logistical issues that he explained to us. He is still willing to build the model for us, so I was really impressed with that. His advice was pretty sound and appeared honest to me. Once we move, we will hire them to do work on whatever pool we have at that location. At this location, it just seems impossible. We had to think about all of the stuff that was going to increase the cost. He was outstanding. It would've been helpful in the beginning if they would've just been honest with me

  Now the specifics: Rick performed a-lot of work during this renovation. 1. Pool Resurface. The pool was resurfaced with Stonescapes Aqua Blue regular Pebbles. I upgraded the finish with the addition of 2 bag Touch of Glass Blue Bead. This was a $1,215 upgrade, but well worth the money as it greatly enhanced the overall appearance. New Tile was installed in the waterline. Rick uses a local wholesale distributor who's warehouse you can actually visit. I liked the idea that you can actually see the tiles/finishes before you make your selection. The warehouse staff was very friendly and helpful. 2.Waterfall Installation. A custom Rico Rock 28" waterfall was part of the renovation. Rick did warn me ahead of time that re-plumbing may be necessary in order to obtain proper GPM flow. He performed testing BEFORE ordering the waterfall, and gave me an estimate of the cost involved. I appreciate that he tried to minimize the "surprises" before committing to the install! I was able to meet with the subcontractor, and go over the details of this phase of the renovation, in order to have a customized result. 3.Pool Deck Resurfacing. I was able to meet with the Subcontractor in order to go over my options for a deck resurface. I decided on a Hand Trowled Slate texture with a flagstone pattern which utilizes the natural cracks in the deck/foundation to provide a durable yet aesthetic pattern. The end result in a stone-like appearance at a fraction of the cost of laying stone. finnally, an accent band was placed around the pool beam, which tied in the waterfall and deck. 4. For the Mechanical: A Pentair C&C 150 Filter assembly and Auto Pilot Nano salt/Chlorine generator were installed 5. A one month pool service/start-up service by Paradise Pools was included in this project. I had contacted several contractors at the start of this project. Rick was one of the first to respond and provide an estimate. Several never even responded. I will say that Pool contractors are very busy, so give the process about 5-6 months from initiation to completion! Rick was very responsive to inquiries, and was flexible in meeting with me to discuss the project. His prices may not be the cheapest in town, but you definitely get what you pay for! I was impressed with the professionalism of his Subs. They kept a clean job site, and where concerned about maintaining the integrity of my property. All-in-All, very positive experience with Paradise Pools!

  From the quote to the final check in call. Rick and his team were prompt, professional and provided excellent service. I have recommended them to people I know looking to upgrade their pools. My husband and I have been so pleased with every aspect of this remodel. We are so proud to have friends and family over to enjoy the pool. It was 18 years old and looking very worn.   Work took about 5 weeks until we were actually able to dive back in the pool. During the process we ended up getting a new heat pump for the pool. Rick was professional in offering brands, sizes & costs. We had lots of family at the house for a high school graduation party the first week in June & having the nicely (newly) finished pool looking fanastic was an added feature to friends & family. We also hired Paradise Pools as our weekly pool service/maintenance. It is nice having someone else (always professional & prompt) take care of a household chore for us during our ever-busy lives. We also recently (March 2013) contacted Paradise Pools to get our screened pool enclosure re-bolted (replacing rusted screws/bolts). Process took about 2 days (only due to weather conditions) & was sub-contracted out to another professional. Work was completed as instructed
