Locale Request – Austrian German

I’d like to request a new language.

I’d like to second this request, although for compatibility reasons, I’d suggest following the existing template of de_CH, i.e. English name German (Austria) and native name Deutsch (Österreich).

I would also volunteer as an additional admin (username pputzer).

Y’all should also decide whether you want a de_AT_formal variant as well. There are currently de_DE, de_DE_formal, de_CH, de_CH_informal (don’t ask why this one is different…), so it makes sense to have the same for German (Austria) as well.

Maybe @f-j-kaiser is interested in helping out as a GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. as well?

  Yes, the “formal” variant would be needed as well. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor.

I can suggest translations, but not approve or import them.       I’m already logged in there (the magic of multisiteMultisite Multisite is a WordPress feature which allows users to create a network of sites on a single WordPress installation. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
      General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor settings where I can see @paperyoshi and myself. So that part should be OK.

        Awesome. We did a quick magic trick to fix a small bug the system created so all should be well. PingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” me if there’s anything else you need assistance with. Welcome to the team!
