Sponsor agreements

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most WordPress events are online. Please refer to our online events handbook.

For communities where COVID-19 has been more effectively contained or have easy access to COVID-19 vaccination and/or testing, returning to hosting an in-person meetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook. event is possible, with caution, using the resources provided. If you plan to move forward with an in-person meetup, you must use the provided checklist .

Most sponsors will not need a sponsor agreement, but there are some cases when one is required:
– If the sponsorship package is an amount higher of $10k
– If it’s a legal requirement of the sponsor’s country (like the case of SiteGround)

In those cases, please follow these steps to create a sponsor agreement (only create the agreement for those sponsorships where one of the two cases above apply):

1) Go to your WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. site’s dashboard and click on the menu: ‘Docs’

2) Select “Sponsorship Agreement” on the dropdown and click on the blue button “Next” (see image above)

3) Fill in all the fields required for creating the agreement (ask the sponsor to provide their details for the first three fields), and click on the blue button “Download PDF”

4) Open the PDF and make sure all details are correct, send it via email to [email protected] requesting a signature from a member of the Global Community TeamGlobal Community Team A group of community organizers and contributors who collaborate on local events about WordPress — monthly WordPress meetups and/or annual conferences called WordCamps. with permission to sign on behalf of WordPress Community Support PBCWordPress Community Support WordPress Community Support PBC is a subsidiary of WordPress Foundation. It is created specifically to be the financial and legal support for WordCamps, WordPress Meetup groups, and any additional “official�? events organized within the WordPress Community Events program. (WPCSWordPress Coding Standards A collection of PHP_CodeSniffer rules (sniffs) to validate code developed for WordPress. It ensures code quality and adherence to coding conventions, especially the official standards for WordPress Core.)

5) As soon as you receive the agreement signed by WPCS, send it to the sponsor requesting signature

6) Upload the signed sponsorship agreement on Budget > Sponsor Invoices > following this quick tutorial
