Yes. Epson has US printers "locked down" in ways it apparently cannot in other jurisdictions.

Wat about the inks?  NA and EU cartridges probably also vary.  If this were more easily done, I would expect that Cone Color/Inkjetmall would already do this?

When you select your printer in Printers & Scanners in Preferences; then, select Options & Supplies, the General Tab of which will display the installed driver version.
