“Gender reveal party” confuses me every time I hear it because it sounds like a cool thing trans people do but it’s actually a very stupid thing straight people do.

I wrote about building , giving a bit of insight into what it takes to write a “simple” app for macOS that “just does one thing”. 😅 Thanks to for the lovely flow chart! 🙂

With the pandemic still raging, it looks like, for many of us, remote work may be here to stay. We figured we all need a little levity. So we wrote a helpful (tongue-in-cheek) guide to acing your remote meetings with panache, grace, and trousers:

The hardest thing about this moment for me is knowing that there are so many George Floyds out there. It's hard to keep up. Just found out about Elijah McClain. Murdered by police for dancing down the street. Someone called 911 saying he looked "sketchy". This was in August 2019.

Just so we're clear, white people, firing Aunt Jemima & giving us Juneteenth off are not the frontlines of defeating white supremacy & dismantling structural & instutional racism. Better schools, a just criminal justice system, access to healthcare was more what we were thinking.

"BUT WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DEFUND THE POLICE?" "Hi, Mr. Brooks. I'm w/ The Dept. of You OK? So, you OK? Looks like you fell asleep in your car. Lemme get you a ride home. I'll be by your home tomorrow to check on you. Here's my number. Looks like your ride's here. Good night, sir."

Black people have been calling out racism for generations. We said it calmly. We shouted it in the streets. We put it in writing. We put it in our music. In our movies and our shows. We put it on stages. In our art. And you danced. You laughed. You clapped. But you never heard.

Imagine watching police officers beating up protestors all week and thinking the solution is giving them MORE money. What’s next a national call for us to go find our 5th grade bullies and give them our lunch money? Just in case it makes them nice

I've always wondered if there are a lot of cases of women being attacked in bathrooms by men sneakily dressing as women in order to plan the perfect attack. Aren't there simpler methods that are used on, like, a daily basis?

Police officers are also paid for the risk they (willingly) take on. I'm under the impression that we don't extend that same courtesy to people who endure risk based on skin colour.

Thank you to everyone who had my back today, means the world to know I’m not speaking to a brick wall. I’m so tired of having these conversations, but I feel like I have to. If you have a voice (we all do) please use it. Your silence is violence. Thanks 4 having me Jezza ❤️

Simple questions: What mechanism is there for people anywhere in the UK to request a statue be removed? When was any statue in the UK last removed using such a mechanism? Unless you have simple answers, don’t be surprised by today‘s events.
