Oculus is conducting a voluntary recall of the Oculus Quest 2 removable foam facial interface in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). We are doing so in response to reports from a very small percentage of users who have experienced skin irritation where the foam portion of the facial interface rests on the skin.
The safety and comfort of every customer is our top priority. As part of this commitment we are now offering a free silicone cover to Quest 2 headset and Quest 2 Fit Pack owners.

What is happening?
We are participating in a voluntary recall of the Oculus Quest 2 removable foam facial interface in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). For context: As more people started using Quest 2, we received reports that a very small percentage of Quest 2 customers were experiencing skin irritation after using the Quest 2 removable foam facial interface. We’ve been working hard to address the issue, working with experts and making adjustments to our manufacturing process, and communicating proactively with regulators.
The safety and comfort of every customer is our top priority. As part of this commitment we are now offering a free silicone cover to Quest 2 headset and Quest 2 Fit Pack owners globally.

Is my Quest 2 part of the recall?
Oculus has issued a voluntary recall of the Quest 2 removable foam facial interface in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. We are now offering a free silicone cover to all Quest 2 headset, Quest 2 facial interface accessory and Quest 2 Fit Pack owners.
We are doing so in response to reports from a very small percentage of users who have experienced skin irritation where the foam portion of the facial interface rests on the skin.

How much does the Quest 2 Silicone Cover cost?
The Quest 2 Silicone Cover is free for Quest 2 users.

Do I need to stop using my Quest 2?
If you experience a skin irritation or reaction, you should immediately stop using the removable foam facial interface, and should contact Facebook to receive a free silicone cover.

Am I eligible to receive a free Quest 2 Silicone Cover?
All Quest 2 or Quest 2 Fit Pack owners who bought a new headset prior to 8/24/21 are eligible to receive a free Quest 2 Silicone Cover. Anyone who purchased a new Quest 2 or Quest 2 Fit Pack on or after 8/24/21 received a silicone cover in-box and is not eligible to receive an additional free Quest 2 Silicone Cover.
