In-person WordCamp Decision checklist

For communities where COVID-19 has been more effectively contained or have easy access to COVID-19 vaccination and/or testing, returning to hosting an in-person meetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). If you plan to move forward with an in-person meetup, you must use the provided checklist .

Please use this checklist to help you determine whether or not your community can proceed with hosting an in-person WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. according to the Community Team’s standards. To use this checklist, you will need data from health authorities (the community has compiled a handy list here!) and knowledge of local laws or regulations. 

You can only organize an in-person WordCamp if your local health authorities permit in-person gatherings. If they do, please fill-up the in-person decision checklist on the page and follow the recommendation accordingly. In other words:

  • If the checklist recommends that you organize an in-person event (if COVID-19 is contained in your area OR if vaccines or testing is freely available), fill up the in-person WordCamp application and start planning your in-person WordCamp.
  • If the checklist does not recommend that you organize in-person events (if COVID-19 cases are high in your area OR if vaccines/testing is not freely available), you will not be able to organize an in-person WordCamp. You can still organize an online WordCamp, nevertheless.
