It was fine. He did what was needed to be done. We were satisfied. When it rained it didn't leak. He was great. I didn't spend anything extra.

Your Last Gutter Guard

He was nice & pleasant but it took him 2 or 3 weeks to get out. He gave a comprehensive roof report so that was good. I just can't afford to wait that long for service.

Cosmos Roofing

I liked that they worked with me because they thought that may be I would do a roof replacement. Then I explained that I couldn’t afford a roof replacement at the time. So they did a good job of putting together an estimate of what they could do to extend the life of our roof until we could afford it. They stuck to their estimate. The overall experience was great. I was really happy with them. We will definitely use their services again in the future.

Richard was responsive, knowledgeable, and focused on meeting our requests. He came to our house and gave an estimate that was reasonable. Turns out his work was high quality and affordable. We appreciate his professionalism and would definitely hire him again.

TOM LEE ROOFING INC

Tom was punctual and extremely knowledgeable. He was a pleasure to deal with. His price was higher than another company and ultimately that made the decision for us. Had that not been the case, I would not have hesitated to go with this roofer.

Simmitri Affordable Roofing & Solar

Affordable Roofing did a stellar job from start to finish. They were responsive to telephone calls, came out quickly to provide an estimate. The estimate was clear and complete. When we discovered we needed a separate permit for the solar (which was stupid, because no changes were made to the design or installation, but the town still required it) they took care of everything. They were in constant contact with the roofing contractor and coordinated the schedules all the way through. The bill was exactly as quoted. If we hadn't already decided on a roofing contractor, I would also have asked Affordable Roofing for a quote. The next time we need a new roof (hopefully not for a long time!) I would start with them first, because they were so easy to work with, so responsive, and did such great work.

Solar Union
5.0
Going solar was something I wanted but didn’t know if I can afford this project for a duplex property such as mine located in the outer sunset. I met with a few solar installers in the bay area and Solar Union was the only company that helps you qualify for rebates offered by San Francisco, in addition to financing options. I was able to replace the roof with a company Solar Union recommended. The whole project (roofing then solar installation) took 1 week and there were only minor findings (grounding) and resolved quickly. Thank you Solar Union team!

Western Roofing Systems

This was for a rental property, so I was very interested in a solution that was both affordable and that would completely eliminate leaks for many, many years. Found John Marsh to be VERY responsive. I got at least 3 other bids, and John's was not only best cost, but just found his overall responsiveness to be excellent in general. The job took a little longer than I had hoped for (some due to rain, which is understandable, and some due to waiting on materials). I was satisfied with the job - I did ask for a hose off when I inspected the roof as there were shoe marks - but again, the quality of job was good. There was one minor corner that I wanted some adjustment - John came back and got that corner done after I paid - that was great to see (as I'm usually disappointed by contractors not finishing after payment).

PLANCHON ROOFING INC
5.0
From the time I contacted Planchon, through the time my roof was complete, the people at Planchon Roofing were friendly, prompt and professional. They always returned calls and emails right away (and I had contacted a few roofing companies -- some whom I never heard from). Although their rates were not the lowest, they were still very reasonable and their professionalism helped me make my decision to choose Planchon. Once I set an appointment with Mr. Planchon, Santiage arrived exactly on time for my consultation, with samples and color swatches. My colors were chosen and I received a followup call to set my appointment. The Planchon crew was willing to work with my schedule. When the workers arrived, again they were prompt, polite and professional. Throughout the job, Mr. Planchon always made followup calls to make sure everything was going well. I really appreciate how hassle free and affordable everything was. There was no additional stress added to my already busy life. Oh yeah, and my roof is beautiful!

Los Gatos Roofing
5.0
Do schedule multiple bids. We had three from reputable companies only two of which were licensed - which is important to me. Seeking multiple bids made me feel comfortable especially since Los Gatos Roofing was so cool about our questions and looking at other companies, they supported my process. One of the other companies was not supportive of a multiple bid process and that was disconcerting. Los Gatos Roofing was very clear about the different services and price points that they offered and patient with the time we needed to spend asking questions and driving around to choose roof designs and colors. They worked with us to give us an incredible job at a price we could afford. Do get licensed contractors, they pull permits, they do great work and if something goes wrong, they will fix it. Plus you get the added feedback from your city inspectors who said the work looked great. The tear off crew was terrific. The two young men in charge knocked on the door to let us know they were there before starting. They cleaned up after themselves and let me know when they would be leaving for lunch, when it was going to get loud, and when they were leaving for the day. They were very careful with cables and the satellite dish. Installation was done by another amazing crew. They put the flashing on the new skylight, replaced a few boards that had dry rot but showed me the boards before replacing them and they carefully repaired some areas damaged in the stucco by 30 years of gutters that were too small and causing leaks in the home exterior. Because of rain they had to complete the majority of the job in two days, which they did beautifully, but then needed to come back on Saturday morning for the final touches. They were apologetic and sensitive to the demands of family life and scheduled their arrival to cause the least distress to our family. I appreciated their care so much! They checked with us everyday and after every clean up to make sure I was pleased. It was really nice. All the guys were professional, polite, happy and very concientious. John Stirm came by the job everyday and came by a few days after the roof was completed just to check in with me and make sure I was happy. Everyone gets excited by how well it lucks and that's really nice. I got the flu just after the job was done and they were so sweet about it all, sending me the bill a few days afterwards so that I could concentrate on getting better instead of having to write a check right away. It was really sweet!

Stephen Curley Roofing

I called the company to come out and check a leak. The owner said they were a small company so it would be $350 up front for them to come out and if they are out longer than 4 hours it would be more. That was fine for me and I appreciated that they came out that same day. Two men came out and I showed them where the leak was and they went up on the roof and were up there for several hours. I had to leave to go to a doctors appointment so they showed the pictures they took to my wife and she paid them. They never went in the attic to look to see if there were damages and make sure the job they did was in the right spot. I called the owner that night to tell him I was concerned because they didn't go into the attic to make sure the job was done completely. The owner said they didn't need to do that and normally don't and that if I had more problems in the future they would come back. He was very rude about it. I don't want to wait to find out there is still a problem and have to have major repairs. He asked why I didn't ask them to go into the attic, but I didn't think I would have to ask professionals to do their job. I just want to know that the job was done completely and the owner is not willing to send someone back out because he said he can't afford it because they are a small company. The contractor that came out was very nice but the owner was very rude. When I called and we talked when he was getting off the phone I heard him complaining and saying negative things about me. I heard him saying "Jesus Christ what a pain". I didn't feel like I was treated professionally at all and I am not satisfied with my job.

Your Energy Solutions
5.0
When I decided to look into solar panels for my house to help offset my electric bills, I started with a list from the BBB website and Yelp and Angie?s list reviews. I wound up with 7 quotes for different systems. After talking with a number of contractors, I chose Your Energy Solutions (YES), and I?m glad I did for a number of reasons. My wife and friends tease me about being a compulsive shopper ? I always research extensively before I buy anything expensive. That?s what led me to YES, and I?m now convinced that it was time well spent. First, I got to deal with Jim (co-owner, handled all the contracting and paperwork) and Lou (engineer, designed and oversaw all technical aspects of installation) directly, not just a sales rep. Some of the other companies were rather pushy and gave me questionable information, but I always felt I was getting an honest appraisal with YES, and they didn?t push me to buy more than I needed or try to tell me that the type (microinverters vs central inverters) were ?the best? ? both have advantages and disadvantages, but either technology will work fine. YES carries both types of systems, so you can get a side-by-side comparison of the pros and cons without all the sales slant. I was leaning toward the microinverter system since it would be easier to upgrade later, but Jim offered me such a good deal on a central inverter system that I was able to get a substantially larger output system for less money, and decided to go that way. I also decided to thermal barrier in the attic and the whole house fan. They really made a difference ? I hardly had to run my AC this summer, only on a few hot days. The whole house fan really cools my house off quickly, with minimal electric usage. With the credit for PG&E for the ?extra? electricity I sell back to the system during the middle of the day, my electric bills have been running less than $50 a month since I got the system put in. I?ve been monitoring my output, and it?s right where it was projected to be. Can?t complain about the system performance. The installation was flawless ? they installed the system and routed the wiring just as we agreed (on time!), painted the conduit to match the house, and you can hardly see it. Very professional ? all the conduit bends match the house, anchored securely, etc. The Livermore inspector told me it looked like a top-notch job to him as well. YES has a storefront in Pleasanton where you can go see the equipment in advance, so you get no surprises when it?s delivered. Jim and Lou met me there on a weekend when they would normally be closed to accommodate my schedule, which I really appreciated since I don?t have a lot of spare time during the week. It?s nice to know they have a place you can go see them if you?ve got a problem instead of just working out of a car. Made me much more comfortable that they were in the business for the long haul. I checked references ? everyone I spoke with was happy. Good reviews on the BBB site and Yelp. After dealing with them, I can see why. They do provide low up-front cost lease options, but if you can afford to buy yourself you?ll save a lot more money over time. They offered a lot of financing choices to chose from, so even if you don?t have any money up front you can still get a system basically for free and cut your electric bill substantially. Jim even provided a sample tax form to claim credit on my taxes when I file next year, so I wouldn?t have to guess or hire a preparer just to be sure I was filling it out right. Overall, I have a hard time pointing to any negatives in my dealing with YES. Not only did they make me comfortable dealing with them, they gave me what I?m convinced was the best deal around, and kept their word on verbal commitments even when I didn?t have it in writing. It was just a positive experience all around, and I can?t recommend them highly enough. Note: I did tell them up front that I would be reviewing their work afterward, but I did not receive any special consideration for doing so and I have no relationship with this company except this one purchase.
