Meeting Facilitators Meeting Facilitators

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the weekly team meetings in SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/..
  • Post the agenda on the “Make Training” team blog.

How do I do this job?

  1. Post the agenda in the Slack channel before the meeting (preferably several hours before).
  2. Lead the discussion of the agenda in the Slack channel.

Training Team Liasion (Training Team RepTeam Rep A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make WordPress team to the rest of the project, make sure issues are raised and addressed as needed, and coordinates cross-team efforts.) Training Team Liasion (Training Team Rep)

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the larger WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. Team Welcome Wrangler Team Welcome Wrangler

Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes new members to the team.

How do I do this job?

  1. Add new members to the tools used by the team such as TrelloTrello Project management system using the concepts of boards and cards to organize tasks in a sane way.   2. Help them learn our workflow and team structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the information in the Training Team and Learn handbooks are accurate and work to improve it.

The “Make Training” site houses the team handbook of information on what we do and how people can contribute to the team. The Learn WordPress site houses the Learn Contributor handbook on what Learn is and how people can contribute to Learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the lists and cards on the team’s Trello boards.

  1. Move, archive and update cards in line with the team’s sprint cycle.

Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. Responsibilities:

  • Vet issues that have been submitted to Learn.
  • Respond to any requests from MetaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. or other functionality related needs of Learn.

How do I do this job?

  1. Read GitHub notifications and respond. 
  2. Discuss at team meetings any concerns or what items we might submit to GitHub Learn.

“Make” Team Buddy “Make” Team Buddy

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the “Make” teams such as AccessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers).   1. Be aware of what the “Make” Training Team is working on. (Keep up with their “Make” blog and Slack channel.)
  2. Bring any relevant items that they are working on to the attention of the Training Team.
  3. Be the voice of the Training Team in their “Make” Team discussions.

Instructional Design Experts Instructional Design Experts

Responsibilities:

  • Review high-level overview of all content on Learn, looking for areas where content is needed.
  • Plan courses, review assessment methods, consider learning styles and content delivery.
  • Provide feedback within a single lesson but you are more oriented toward broad content review.
  • It is similar to a Scrum Product Owner.

  1. Vet content ideas and scope new lesson plans, workshops and courses.
  2. Audit gaps in content, set the standards for content delivery, and evaluate content being delivered.
