After listening to their problem, and deciding that we should try a repair, I checked Angie's List for a service provider, and put my tenant in touch (with guidelines). The report came back that all was fixed, and he was very professional.

Great. Boris diagnosed the problem and gave us a cost-effective solution. We tried ordering a cheaper part for our Viking stove to save us money but when that part created problems he can back to fix it for no extra visit charge. He was also good at explaining the issue and was on time and responsive. I would definitely ask him for help again in the future.

We called All State Appliance based on the listing here. We had never used them before. I called around 3:00 PM. It was not urgent but they said someone would arrive within a couple of hours. A repairman did indeed arrive in about an hour. He took at least 45 minutes to diagnose our problem, which unfortunately was not fixable due to the broken part no longer being made. They charged us $35 for the work, which seemed quite reasonable given how quickly they responded and how much time it took (about an hour all told). We would definitely use them again for appliance repair.

The repairman arrived promptly and went right to work. He had everything he needed to replace the part. My mother also asked him about the light bulb. He checked it out and replaced it. Very neat. Left all the old parts with us. In and out within 15 minutes. He was very pleasant and professional. Would definitely call them again.

His price was high but provided extra services such as giving me a sense of the remaining life of the stove and providing free diagnosis of the kitchen's refrigerator. Polite, knowledgeable. Called during xmas holiday not expecting to be able to get an appt soon and was pleasantly surprised they could come the next day. Appt was to be between 9a-11a and the technician arrived at exactly 9am. Repair took less than 30 minutes. Very friendly staff, on the phone and the technician.

Very good experience. Scheduling was easy and quick, and Rich was able to diagnose the problems with my stove pretty quickly. I had one burner that would not ignite when the knob was turned (but would ignite if other knobs were set to lite); the problem was a fault in the wiring from the knob to the ignition switch (it was the most-used burner). The solution was to replace the wiring harness that connects the knobs. Rich knew exactly what part to get, and was able to pick it up in SF the next day, and return to install it the day after (he didn't have that particular part in his truck, my stove is a bit older). FYI, part cost was about $81 for the whole harness, you can't just replace for one knob on this model. My oven had also been running cool, and not coming up to temperature quickly. RIch was very helpful and explained the way that the stove really worked (most of them do not come up to full temperature by the time the "preheat" signal goes off- it doesn't matter much for a casserole, but for baking the difference can be noticeable). He used one of his oven thermometers to compare to the one I had been using to test, and reset the calibration of the stove via the electronic controls. He checked back the next day to see if the oven seemed to be working more as expected- it does seem to be much closer to the set temperature. It is clear that Rich is an expert in repair- the rare person (nowadays) with enough experience to know how well the manufacturer-recommended repairs *really* work, and able to advise on simple maintenance that can head off much more expensive repairs later. I would recommend him without reservation.

My Kenmore oven has to be at least 20 years old, and the oven quit heating two weeks before Christmas. It was impossible to find a company that could come out to fix it on my day off prior to Christmas, so I scheduled an appt with Contra Costa Appliance for the 26th of Dec. The tech they sent, Peter, was on time. He was polite and friendly, and got right to work after spending a minute petting my German Shepherd(some folks find her intimidating due to her size, so it was nice to see someone who was comfortable with her). He quickly identified the issues, but let me know he couldn't get the replacement part until the following week. He gave me a price quote, and I paid a $100 deposit after scheduling an appt for the following week. Peter was on time for the second appt. and spent about 30 mins replacing the part. He left the old malfunctioning part for me(I wasn't home at the time of the second appt., my roommate took care of things)as well as cleaned up the back range burner that wasn't lighting. Both the oven and burner work great now. I do wish it could have been done all in one appt., but I understand that sometimes parts need to be ordered. It's just so difficult to try to fit in repair appts. around my work schedule. Overall, I'd definitely call these guys again for large appliance repairs.

In our first communication, I gave him the complete model number. He anticipated the problem with the oven and came equipped with the part to fix it so there was no wasted time in first coming out and waiting for the part to come in, thus necessitating a second trip out.

We use Apples Stoves to repair the nearly 100 year old gas stove at our church. The folks at Apple had to practically rebuild parts to get it up and running (there was a leak in one of the gas lines to the burners). They did a great job and saved us tons in having to replace this behemoth. They said with a little regular maintenance, we should get another 100 years out of it.

Representative came to do warranty repair on 1 month old gas stove. He inspected the stove and ordered parts. He left the stove unpluggd (said it was unsafe to use electrial unit) and stated that he would return within 1 week to install the replacement parts. We never hear from them again(now beyond 3 weeks). I have called the office 12 times and have never received a return call. I have also reported the problem to Lowes, where we purchased the stove. Their rep has called several times and has not received a return call from Aries.

Excellent experience. From my Monday morning call to Susan who said that Wednesday was their first opening (it was the week after Thanksgiving after all), but if they finished scheduled calls earlier they would try to get to me sooner. Good news -- by 3pm that same day, she called and said that Rich was in the area and would come over then. Less than an hour later, the oven was operational and we were able to cook dinner. Rich explained throroughly what was wrong, what needed to be repaired and why. Will do business with them again.
