Starting EditorsKit 1.6 , you can now use markdowns on Gutenberg editor while typing. Markdowns for *bold*, _italic_ and ~strikethrough~ are available upon plugin activation. Lists of available markdowns are also accessible on the settings menu.

Word count is already available on Gutenberg editor. EditorsKit then extend this word count and display estimated count as well. Using roughly 275 word per minute plus additional calculations based on image blocks, you can display better estimated reading time on your posts and pages.

Powered by shortcode you can display the Estimated Reading Time on your content by using the code below.

Assign link to cover, group and column blocks at ease with option to enable link attributes like open to new tab, apply nofollow and/or sponsored rel value. Additionally, you can enable the extra option to apply hover animation.

Keyboard Shortcuts

EditorsKit adds the missing keyboard shortcuts from Classic Editor. When activated you can use the following shortcuts to easily save time and improve writing workflow.

Template and Pattern Library

EditorsKit now includes access to the Extendify template and pattern library that can be accessed by clicking the «Library» button in the menu bar of the editor. We provide a variety of templates and patterns to serve different use cases and are adding more templates every week.

Note: Templates and patterns rely on blocks and styling applied by the Editor Plus plugin. The Editor Plus plugin is required when importing a template or pattern. If you uninstall Editor Plus, the templates and patterns will still display on your site, but the styling may be affected. Additionally, stock images included in the templates are hosted by Extendify. We recommend replacing the images or adding them to your media library directly.

Privacy

EditorsKit uses a custom API to fetch templates and patterns from the Extendify template and pattern library. To improve the service and stability we store logs which may contain the following:

  • browser type
  • referring site
  • date and time of request
  • category selection or search term
  • anonymized IP address

API requests are only made when a user clicks on the Library button.

No longer works with Gutenberg (now 11.4.1) had to deactivate

I am on WordPress 5.8 (latest). I have done the trouble shooting and it is this plugin that no longer works with Gutenberg which updated 4 days ago. Not sure if you plan on fixing this issue. I have had to deactivate it otherwise I get an error message on the back end and cannot load the pages to edit them.

Still a good plugin but starting to bloat

This is still a handy plugin with a couple of must have features I use regularly. My main concerns are the increasing bloat of additional features I do not need. The original ethos was a focused plugin providing some missing features now there are more and more bolt on's including around Typography which was previously an add on that I never wanted or want a user anywhere near. The addition of Extendify, which is still not dealt with in satisfactory way in my opinion, is a step too far. I think if should be an opt-in at install, certainly not on by default or managed via a per user basis. Making me 50/50 on keeping this plugin in my default install list since I can't see the feature set being simplified anytime soon.

Great until the Extendify update

This plugin was a great utility for common editor needs, especially ones that you'd think would be in core WordPress by now. Unfortunately, the Extendify acquisition also came with a block library and a big prominent button in the editor. After running updates and going to edit a page, I thought "what the bleep is Extendify?!", as I knew I hadn't installed a builder plugin. I disagree with introducing what I consider a totally different classification of features to a tool that was already excellent for what it was. I appreciate that the authors made ways to get around this, but the fact that I'd have to use workarounds like this every time soured me to the whole plugin and I'll either implement the options myself or seek out another plugin.
