The full schema for block.json was added some time ago and it even has a special URL that’s going to be maintained as long as necessary at schemas.wp.org/trunk/block.js. It’s also integrated with JSON Schema Store which is integrated with some IDEs.

I really hope we can make this experiment a reality someday: Use Gutenberg Blocks to manage your WordPress content, then consume the blocks as data in any client application via GraphQL. Lots of work to be done in Gutenberg core to make this a reality. Hopefully one day 🤞
