I was able to get around the apple classes by setting <compilerarg value="-XDignore.symbol.file"> in the plugins build file, but now the main build file is complaining about a missing Info.plist file in the app bundler task which seems like the final hurdle to building it for my mac. Looks like the plist file is xslt'd into the final plist file for mac app distribution - but I have no idea where the source Info.plist file comes from. </compilerarg> Any guidance to getting this to build on the mac...

Ok, so under jdk 1.8 provided by zulu (non rosetta) the security errors go away and it's just the MacChanges accessories plugin that is preventing a successful build. I'm also ignoring the Jabber plugin which is missing a jar (mindmapping over jabber?) Not sure what these Mac specific items are. I'm not a Swing dev so OS specific classes are not something I'm familiar with but I'll keep at it.

The SecurityManager methods that were deprecated long ago are now gone and I don't know what the replacements are. Hi Christian, this is a total shot in the dark, but could you try putting all font scales through this if statement for now? Maybe mark it as an experimental build for us m1 users? Awesome and thanks! In my version after updating to MacOS Monterey, zooming to 75% fixed the issue for the text visibility but then zooming to other percentages also worked so now the fonts are readable at any level. It is the 100% zoom that does not seem to properly display the text. However, the map file names shown in the tabs don't display properly.

Hi again, I have decided to move over to SimpleMind. Really easy to use and still being developed. I don’t think it can import .mm files but for me this is not a problem as most of my .mm files are now archived. Hi, after updating my MacBook Air M1 to MacOS Monterey I have serious problems using Freemind to the point it became useless as I can't read anything anymore. I have been using a map with an encrypted node and an associated password for almost 4 weeks. Yesterday, the password failed to open the node and I still cannot open the node using the same password. I have installed the latest version of Java and reinstalled the latest version of Freemind. Developer help for a non-developer is appreciated. I have read other threads on this topic.

A number of years ago, I created a plugin for freemind that completely changed the way I used it. I use it to write code, access databases, generate styled documents (readable by word), websites and all sorts of fun things. It ran/runs on a very old version of freemind. I now want to update it for a current version of freemind and as a result I need to be able to compile it under eclipse. As of late I'm not quite sure how to compile it under win 7/jdk 8/ eclipse 4. Charles, I've been using freemind for a long time, I have a plugin that helps me write plugins :) I use it to write program code, generate websites and a lot of other fun things. Its for a old version, but I can tell you it opens a lot* more possibilities than most imagine for mindmaps in general. I suspect free mind could help you do a lot of realy neat things.

I tried nestednotes. It seems that it's usable. But it takes serious using to tell the usability. Anyone has created a mind map with thousands of nodes? To me, the challenge is to have decent layout when there are a huge number of nodes. I'd like to know the keyboard shortcuts. Also, I'd suggest that your support of vim keyboard bindings. Hello, I have a forthcoming trip. I entered the details into Freemind on the PC with absolute links to a nearby folder of docs." I then copied the mind map "Trip.mm" into an new folder, along with the docs folder and made a new set of relative links from the docs to the mind map by drag and drop. I then exported the "Trip.mm" in XHTML (java script version) into the same new folder. Just thought I would put a fix here that I encountered... For me graphical links were not adding using the new shortcuts (ctrl + C > ctrl + L), until after I inserted a graphical link using the dialogue box (right click > insert > paste as graphical links) -- after creating a link that way using the shortcuts (ctrl+ C > ctrl + L) worked fine.

below is the way of my workaround in MacOS right-click freemind, select "Show Package Contents" edit the file of Info.plist, remove 2 line as below <key>JVMRuntime</key> <string>jdk1.7.0_45.jdk</string> open folder of "PlugIns", and delete the java** folder directly it will works. To add a new keyboard shortcut, say for "Change node background color", open the file mindmap_menus.xml (in freemind.jar) and search for "background", say. But in the mindmap_menus.xml document there is no option to change the text color (sorry for English, I used a translator)

Sometimes Java blocks the Clipboard interaction between Freemind and the rest of my Win10 OS. Greetings. I have the suspicion that since Monday last week that my linux version asked me to upgrade Java (and I did) the export of Xhtml files does not work correctly, since I can only export in html. I am looking to see if doing a downgrade I can solve it. E.

Hello guys, I'm currently working on a mind map with freemind and I have a problem. My nodes seems to be interacting between each others to the point that I can't make closer the nodes together. When I make one node closer, the other one gets further. * those nodes that I'm talking about are all "son-related nodes" of the same main node. So my mapp is so extended that I can't use it anymore. The nodes refuses to be close together. Did someone ever meet that kind of stuff ? I cant find the way to...

Hi, if you want to have it exactly as in the list, you should export it to something graphical: png or pdf or the like. HTH, Chris

I believe the following helps to understand when the problem started on osx, and how to make the workaround work: - problem unknown with osx High Sierra and before - problem does occur with Mojave and later - the proposed workaround (switching to the Monaco font does help IF a) you use Monaco, with size of 12 pts.
