You might have to call someone who knows how to use that funny talky computer voice to help you do basic tasks in your app. Imagine that. Imagine it every single day.

When you, as a developer, turn around to me as a blind customer and one that likely has paid to use your software that 'No, we have absolutely no interest in making our software accessible at this time' what you're essentially telling me is that you don't care.

You don't care that I've given you money, am wishing to use your product or service, and that you don't care that you're forcing me to jump through hoops to use your app.

Developer, you're now at a restaurant. You have a very tough steak in front of you. You're trying to use a knife to cut it. It's stopping you at every turn. Shifting from under your knife, shooting all over your plate. Basically, it's an inaccessible cut of meat.

You have to humiliatingly ask for help to do something that you should be able to do without help. If you had a slightly better knife, a more accessible knife, perhaps a more grippy fork, you might have managed this by yourself.

You complain to the restaurant who turn around and tell you in no uncertain terms that: 'Sorry, but we've been using these knives and forks for years. We have absolutely no wish to change them for you at this time, you'll just have to manage.' How will you feel about that?

@WavesAudioLTD,@XLNAudio,@Continuata,@iZotopeInc Dear developers, I would like you to pay attention to this thread, in particular the cutting food in restaurant scenario. Show it to management. Perhaps reconsider your stance on inaccessible software.https://twitter.com/FreakyFwoof/status/1100731187243302912 …Show this threadThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. Oh, thread by the way. I didn't get ranty, soapboxy etc. Just tried to make my point in a calm, collected manner. Very unlike me I know...https://twitter.com/FreakyFwoof/status/1100731187243302912 …

I've been that blind guy that lead people out of a darkened house because the power was cut, and the place was smoky due to fire. Better emergency strip-lighting would have made that a less dangerous and less harrowing experience for those with sight who don't live in darkness.
