Allowing for people to do that is really important. Otherwise, are we all supposed to be static and not have changing opinions based on the changing information we get throughout our lives?

I learned so much from this episode. Also has an appearance by . I was thinking about Haben's question asking if none of us have ever been on the wrong side of things and later changed our minds? Many times.

  7. My favorite part of keynotes is the Q&A, and my conversations with disabled students and their allies will stay with me for a long time. Feeling so honored U.C. Davis welcomed me on campus yesterday!

My guide dog Mylo and I are standing before a sea of bicycles in a variety of colors and styles. They’re parked before the Silo, an old barn that was converted to a lively food court and meeting space.

  8. is full of poetic, moving anecdotes. There are humorous stories, too, such as how her California-born kids enjoy telling people that their mom peed on a lion. After reading the ebook I bought the hard cover as a gift for Mother’s Day.

  9. Many people insist if you don’t defend every practice of a place, then you’re against them. But this gorgeous memoir by shows that you absolutely can love a place & reject the violent, soul-crushing, female-genital-cutting patriarchy. From Somalia to America,

I’m smiling and holding up The Last Nomad: Coming of Age in the Somali Desert by Shugri Said Salh. The left side of the book cover has a realistic painting of a Somali woman(Shugri) wearing a guntiino (sari-like garment that shows one bare shoulder), a metal bracelet, and holding a thick stick. She stands looking over her shoulder. On the right side of the book cover there’s a black and white picture of several  white goats standing on large rocks in a desert dotted with thorny bushes. The title of the book is in white ink, and it is in the upper half of the book; the author’ name is in white letters at the very bottom. The cover has a signed book sticker!

I’m sitting beside Mylo, a German Shepherd wearing a Seeing Eye harness and a happy expression. Behind us is a tiny, mystical pool full of smooth, rock-like pieces of recycled glass in shades of blue, part of the sustainable landscaping at California’s Rosicrucian Park.
