Welcome to your State AT Program Directory to help you connect to the formula funded Assistive Technology (AT) Act program in your state or territory! The directory is comprised of 6 different “address books”. You can first select the directory you’re looking for and with the second drop down, select the state or territory for which you’re seeking information:
Step 1: Select Directory: you may select from 6 different directories. You may select “State AT Programs” to get a menu with general program contact information for each of the 56 state and territory programs; or you have the option of choosing any one of the five listed State Level activities to get a contact person and email for that specific activity if it is included in the State Plan for AT of that state/territory. Short descriptions of these five activities are as follows:
- Device Loan - allows individuals to borrow assistive technology (AT) for a limited time period to try out and determine if a device will meet their needs before a purchase is made.
- Device Demonstration - provides opportunities for people to become familiar with specific types of AT by comparing and contrasting the functions and features of devices through hands on exploration.
- Device Reutilization – supports the reuse of assistive technology that is no longer needed or used by its original owner and is acquired by a new owner at substantial cost savings.
- Financial Loan – support the purchase of AT through financial loans to individuals, often with preferred terms over those provided by banks or other financial institutions.
- Other State Financing – supports the purchase or acquisition of AT through initiatives other than financial loans that directly provide AT to individuals or save consumers money when purchasing AT.
Step 2: Select State: In the “Step 2” drop down menu, select the state or territory in which you are interested. If you select “All States” you will get a list of the 56 state and territory AT programs.
Examples: If you are interested in the Device Loan program in your state/territory you would select Device Loans in Step 1 and select your state or territory in Step 2 for the contact information of your short-term device loan program. If your state/territory did not include Device Loan in their State Plan, the directory will indicate that the activity is not included in the State Plan for AT.
If you are interested contacting Device Reutilization programs across the country you would select Device Reutilization in Step 1 and All States in Step 2 and that would provide a contact name and email address for all state/territories who conduct reutilization activities as part of the State Plan for AT.
If you select Financial Loan in Step 1 and All States in Step 2 you will get a list of contacts for all states/territories who implement financial loan activities as part of the State Plan for AT and for those states/territories who have a federally funded cash loan program that is not included in the State Plan for AT, there will be a link provided to a list of those federally funded financial loan programs.
