There are two SIM options for connecting your Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad model to a data plan: a physical SIM card or eSIM technology.^*** (Note: Wi-Fi iPad models cannot connect to mobile networks.)

Physical SIM card: All Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad models have a physical nano-SIM tray that will hold a carrier nano-SIM card (also called a 4FF SIM card). Your iPad may have a carrier SIM card already installed if you purchased it from a carrier. If not, you can contact your carrier to obtain an appropriate card for your iPad. eSIM technology: Newer Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad models include built-in eSIM technology that essentially acts as a digital SIM card. There are a few ways to activate an eSIM on your iPad, including downloading it on the iPad itself, scanning a QR code or using an app from a carrier. With eSIM, you can choose mobile data plans from selected carriers in more than 180 countries and regions around the world. Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad models with an embedded Apple SIM include: iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (2nd generation), iPad Pro 10.5‑inch, iPad Pro 9.7‑inch, iPad mini (5th generation) and iPad Air (3rd generation).

Apple Trade In makes it easy to get credit toward the purchase of your next iPad. Simply answer a few questions about your device. If your iPad is engraved, it may be eligible for trade-in. Based on what you tell us, we’ll provide an estimated trade-in value. If you pay monthly, we’ll apply the value as an instant credit to lower the monthly payments of your new iPad. If you pay in full, we’ll credit your payment method after we receive your trade-in. If it’s not eligible for credit, you can recycle it for free.

Once you accept the estimated trade-in value quote, we'll ship you a free trade-in kit. When we receive your trade-in, we'll verify its condition, and if everything checks out, your trade-in will be complete. If your device doesn’t match the condition you described, you’ll receive an email with next steps. If you paid in full and the value of your device was more than the cost of your new iPad, you’ll receive an Apple Gift Card by email with the remaining amount.

The online trade-in process generally takes 2–3 weeks.

You can also trade in your device at an Apple Store at the point of purchase, however the trade-in value in the store may be different from the estimated trade-in value you received online.

Once you’ve selected your iPad, you can choose to pay in full or spread the cost and pay monthly with financing for qualifying customers. We also accept Apple Pay, most credit and debit cards, and Apple Store Gift Cards.

You can also get credit towards a new IPad if you trade in your old one. If it’s not eligible for credit, we can recycle it for free.

Delivery estimates are based on item availability and the shipping option you choose. You’ll get a final delivery date after you place your order.

Standard shipping is free for all online orders. Or you can upgrade your shipping method for an additional charge.

In selected metro areas, we offer same-day scheduled courier delivery from an Apple Store for available in-stock items. The three-hour delivery fee is A$15. You’ll choose a delivery date and time during check-out. Subject to availability.

Depending on your location, your order may be eligible for pick-up at an Apple Store or you can collect your order from an Apple-authorised location like a newsagent or supermarket. For pick-up, you’ll choose a pick-up method, date and location during check-out.

Orders placed through apple.com can only be shipped within the country or region of purchase. Visit the online store of the location where you want your products delivered.

Yes. If you change your mind and no longer wish to keep your iPad, you have the option to return it to us, even if it is engraved. The returned iPad must be in good condition and in the original packaging, which contains all accessories, manuals and instructions. Returns are subject to Apple’s Sales and Refunds Policy.
