The associated page is used by the MediaWiki Spam Blacklist extension, and lists regular expressions which cannot be used in URLs in any page in Wikimedia Foundation projects (as well as many external wikis). Any Meta administrator can edit the spam blacklist; either manually or with SBHandler. For more information on what the spam blacklist is for, and the processes used here, please see Spam blacklist/About.

Proposed additions
Please provide evidence of spamming on several wikis. Spam that only affects a single project should go to that project's local blacklist. Exceptions include malicious domains and URL redirector/shortener services. Please follow this format. Please check back after submitting your report, there could be questions regarding your request.
Proposed removals
Please check our list of requests which repeatedly get declined. Typically, we do not remove domains from the spam blacklist in response to site-owners' requests. Instead, we de-blacklist sites when trusted, high-volume editors request the use of blacklisted links because of their value in support of our projects. Please consider whether requesting whitelisting on a specific wiki for a specific use is more appropriate - that is very often the case.
Other discussion
Troubleshooting and problems - If there is an error in the blacklist (i.e. a regex error) which is causing problems, please raise the issue here.
Discussion - Meta-discussion concerning the operation of the blacklist and related pages, and communication among the spam blacklist team.

Whitelists
There is no global whitelist, so if you are seeking a whitelisting of a url at a wiki then please address such matters via use of the respective Mediawiki talk:Spam-whitelist page at that wiki, and you should consider the use of the template {{edit protected}} or its local equivalent to get attention to your edit.

Please sign your posts with ~~~~ after your comment. This leaves a signature and timestamp so conversations are easier to follow.

Completed requests are marked as {{added}}/{{removed}} or {{declined}}, and are generally archived quickly. Additions and removals are logged · current log 2021/11.

Proposed additions[edit]

Symbol comment vote.svg This section is for proposing that a website be blacklisted; add new entries at the bottom of the section, using the basic URL so that there is no link (example.com, not http://www.example.com). Provide links demonstrating widespread spamming by multiple users on multiple wikis. Completed requests will be marked as {{added}} or {{declined}} and archived.

Link to the biggest russian darknet drugmarket. There are big problems with different users which try to get link in articles. Nowdays it is on wikidata and ukrainian wikipedia, till yesterday was in russian wikipedia. Article about drugmarket is protected for 3 days till admins, before it was trash. Maybe tomorrow will be again. In some days it can be at other sources due to widespread of darknetmarket at another countries. If you can not block link here due the question: "Is it illegible to be in Wikipedia?", show please right page for request. --Ibidem (talk) 15:26, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Proposed additions (Bot reported)[edit]

Symbol comment vote.svg This section is for domains which have been added to multiple wikis as observed by a bot.

These are automated reports, please check the records and the link thoroughly, it may report good links! For some more info, see Spam blacklist/Help#COIBot_reports. Reports will automatically be archived by the bot when they get stale (less than 5 links reported, which have not been edited in the last 7 days, and where the last editor is COIBot).

Sysops
  • If the report contains links to less than 5 wikis, then only add it when it is really spam
  • Otherwise just revert the link-additions, and close the report; closed reports will be reopened when spamming continues
  • To close a report, change the LinkStatus template to closed ({{LinkStatus|closed}})
  • Please place any notes in the discussion section below the HTML comment

COIBot[edit]

The LinkWatchers report domains meeting the following criteria:

  • When a user mainly adds this link, and the link has not been used too much, and this user adds the link to more than 2 wikis
  • When a user mainly adds links on one server, and links on the server have not been used too much, and this user adds the links to more than 2 wikis
  • If ALL links are added by IPs, and the link is added to more than 1 wiki
  • If a small range of IPs have a preference for this link (but it may also have been added by other users), and the link is added to more than 1 wiki.

Proposed removals[edit]

Symbol comment vote.svg This section is for proposing that a website be unlisted; please add new entries at the bottom of the section. Use a suitable 3rd level heading and display the domain name as per this example {{LinkSummary|targetdomain.com}}.

Remember to provide the specific domain blacklisted, links to the articles they are used in or useful to, and arguments in favour of unlisting. Completed requests will be marked as {{removed}} or {{declined}} and archived.

See also recurring requests for repeatedly proposed (and refused) removals.

Notes:

  • The addition or removal of a domain from the blacklist is not a vote; please do not bold the first words in statements.
  • This page is for the removal of domains from the global blacklist, not for removal of domains from the blacklists of individual wikis. For those requests please take your discussion to the pertinent wiki, where such requests would be made at Mediawiki talk:Spam-blacklist at that wiki. Search spamlists — remember to enter any relevant language code

mentaldaily.com[edit]

According to the archive: it appears there was a short, isolated timespan in which several of the domain's stories were being used as part of a 'prolific spambot' by a user who had created a number of accounts to do it. That occurred several years ago. I only assume the domain would not be the subject of such occurrences if removed from blacklist, as the issue is not the domain as a source but rather a single former user. I propose to remove this domain from blacklist, given that I am considering using one of the domain's stories that appears to be notable and has been covered by a magazine, newspaper, and television news source the three of which are reliable sources. The story I am referring to is on menstruation habits and would be a good inclusion to add a sentence about the menstruation habits that i was only able to find in this media coverage for use within one of the menstruation cycle pages. Here's a few links on what I am referring to: mentaldaily.com/article/2016/11/work-anxiety-caffeine-smoking-can-make-your-period-worse-study / Coverage i found of the story: https://www.glamour.com/story/10-everyday-habits-that-actually-make-your-period-even-worse https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/mobile/amp/article/2001297030/six-foods-that-could-worsen-your-period-pains https://www.liputan6.com/health/read/2657484/menstruasi-terasa-sakit-hindari-lakukan-7-kebiasaan-ini

Here's one article found on google news about the domain: https://www.ibtimes.sg/meet-these-10-science-research-websites-making-web-great-59989 and another from Media Bias/Fact Check: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/mental-daily/ Let me know if possible, otherwise, will see if another source has this same information on menstruation habits. @Multi7001: Declined Declined, as I explained on en.wikipedia later: a user with a clear SEO objective got blocked in 2017, it got blacklisted on en.wikipedia in 2018 (the block clearly did not help). The attempts to spam continued on en.wikipedia and then moved globally after which it got blacklisted globally. That is the type of persistence that does get domains globally blacklisted, but also the type of persistence that gives you good Google Rankings. It also tells what to expect of this site. I would suggest that you try and get specific links whitelisted (possibly after a proper vetting for reliability for the use it is intended for). --Dirk Beetstra T C (en: U, T) 06:06, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
It doesn't look as the domain is particularly authoritative, so rather than removing from the global blacklist, it may be a local whitelisting as a better option. Defer to w:en:Mediawiki talk:spam-whitelist I agree with Beetstra's determination to decline.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:45, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

professionallawyer.me[edit]

Hi, I kindly request you to remove the domain from backlist. The blogs on this site are really informative and useful for the people facing legal difficulties. The information provided in the blogs can help people take sound and careful decisions while being adhering to the laws and legal system of the UAE. This blog information has helped numerous people form around the world. The website does not have spam users. All the information is drafted by legal professionals, so the statistics and law information is absolutely correct. I am not directly related to the site but the information is surprisingly well and correct. I have tried to link the blogs to relevant Wikipedia articles but they got removed and then banned. I am a new user on Wikipedia and therefore couldn't understand where I went wrong. Again requesting you to remove the domain from backlist. the regexes[edit]

  • Regex requested to be blacklisted: \.compagnons\.org
  • Regex requested to be blacklisted: jouvence\.com
  • Regex requested to be blacklisted: applausestore\.com
  • Regex requested to be blacklisted: mi-aime-a-ou\.com

Added in 2006 per Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive120#New_York_City_blackout_of_1977, which was likely at the time that we did not have a local blacklist yet. Ping user:STyx. --Dirk Beetstra T C (en: U, T) 05:26, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

@STyx: Removed Removed from Spam blacklist. (edited) I should have given a bit more explanation. It was added in 2006 after an en.wikipedia incident (hence likely in a time that there was no local blacklist yet). Although I do not believe in any time based argument, this was 15 odd years ago due to a very specific local incident. And as with blacklistings, de-blacklistings do not have a guarantee to be indefinite either. If abuse continues, we can find solutions then. Dirk Beetstra T C (en: U, T) 05:28, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

p.tl[edit]

A URL shortener added in 2011 per Talk:Spam blacklist/Archives/2011-09#p.tl. It had stopped generating new shortened links in 2014 and existing shortened links are no longer accessible since 2017 (secondary source: その数なんと約880万件、URL短縮サービス終了により発行済みの短縮URLがすべて無効化 - やじうまWatch).

This is a request deferred from w:ja:MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist#p.tl. Per the original request, the reasons for removal are (1) the domain no longer provides URL shortener services (i.e. no longer a risk), and (2) intention to use the site's top page as reference in w:ja:短縮URL. ネイ (talk) 17:15, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

@ネイ: Removed Removed from Spam blacklist. Indeed dead at the moment and the original owner put a placeholder message. Seems save now. Can always be blacklisted if the status changes. Dirk Beetstra T C (en: U, T) 13:42, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! ネイ (talk) 13:58, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

borgenproject.org[edit]

It is stated the link has been added by someone whose username is very similar to the domain being added, and the IP related to the link is added by someone with an IP close to the IP of the link. However, I want to use their website as a reference because it provide facts and information for the Homelessness topic. I am trying to use their website on this article:

(on Wikipedia)

Zsteve21 (talk) 10:31, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

@Zsteve21: Declined Declined, I already suggested you to whitelist specific links on en.wikipedia. This was spammed by a larger number of IPs and cross-wiki, and I doubt that it has broad use (and if so, then granted whitelist requests will show that more clearly).
