Seeking Accreditation Workshop (Virtual)

Friday, April 1
9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. CT

This workshop focuses on how institutions seek accreditation with HLC. The workshop reviews Eligibility and Candidacy, along with the new Accelerated Process for Initial Accreditation; details HLC's Eligibility Requirements and provides tips for offering evidence regarding the requirements; and begins to prepare institutions for comprehensive evaluations related to seeking accreditation.

Who Should Attend: Individuals leading their institution’s process of seeking accreditation.

Peer Corps Program

Saturday, April 2
9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. CT

Current members of HLC’s Peer Corps receive professional development and specialized training. The program will include updates on HLC policies and procedures and good practices for conducting and leading evaluations. Special training sessions will be offered for new team chairs, presidents, new Institutional Actions Council members, and substantive change reviewers and chairs.

Who Should Attend: All active members of HLC’s Peer Corps are invited to attend professional development sessions. Training sessions are offered by invitation only.

Supporting Student Success Workshop

Saturday, April 2
8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. CT

In this hands-on workshop, attendees will examine common factors that affect student success. Facilitators will lead a series of activities to help attendees identify their institution’s current realities and discover areas of opportunity for improving student success within their particular sphere of influence.

Who Should Attend: Administrators, faculty and staff members of any HLC-accredited or candidate institution, or representatives of independent companies or organizations.

Effective Administrators Workshop

Saturday, April 2
8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. CT

This workshop offers strategies for improving efficiency in key higher education administrator competencies including institutional effectiveness, planning, and resource management. Designed for new and rising administrators taking on formal and informal leadership roles to support their unit and institution, the workshop offers a blend of presentation, application and small group activities.

Who Should Attend: New and rising administrators seeking a foundational, skill-development workshop

Presidents Program

Saturday, April 2
9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. CT

This program offers institutional leaders a chance to engage with HLC's president and trustees as well as invited speakers on key issues in higher education and accreditation.

Who Should Attend: CEOs and Presidents from HLC member institutions

General Program

5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2–
11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 5

The General Program offers information on the latest developments, issues and good practices in higher education. HLC staff members provide updates on HLC policies, procedures and initiatives; leading researchers and practitioners share innovative approaches; and institutions from across HLC’s region present valuable lessons from their experiences.

Who Should Attend: HLC contacts and institutional representatives, including Accreditation Liaison Officers, Data Update Coordinators, Assurance System Coordinators, administrative professionals, faculty members, peer reviewers, and CEOs, presidents and chancellors.

On-Demand Post-Conference Access

April 5–June 4, 2022

For 60 days after the conclusion of the conference, attendees will have access to recorded presentations and resources through the conference website.

Conference Overview

The HLC Annual Conference provides opportunities for administrators, faculty and staff of HLC member institutions, along with members of the HLC Peer Corps, to learn information and promising practices from fellow practitioners and the HLC staff. Attendees also engage with featured speakers who are leading thinkers, researchers and advocates in the field of higher education.
