Cincinnati Fiberglass Shower Repair

We had Joe do a shower renovation for us. He removed our old builder grade shower with surround, and enlarged and replaced it with a beautiful tiled shower. His design instincts and craftsmanship are top notch. We couldn't be happier, and wouldn't hesitate to contact him for any other renovation projects we may need! He was super easy to work with, and our project specifications were clearly delineated in our contract before starting. No surprises- just beautiful results!

Early last fall my wife noticed a crack in the floor of the one-piece fiberglass shower stall in our master bath. We immediately stopped using the shower. At the time we were having our kitchen remodeled, so I asked the contractor if he could give me a ball park price on how much it would cost to replace the shower stall. The answer was $3000 - $4000. OUCH!!! A few weeks later my wife ran across an ad for Miracle Method and I gave them a call. Initially I had a bit of trouble contacting them via their web site (problem with their web contact form) and could only get a recording when calling their phone number. I did finally make contact with Jim Hudek, the owner. We made an appointment for an estimate within a week and in early November, Matt came to our home and provided an estimate of $450 to repair the crack and apply a textured "Slip Resistant Surface" (SRS) to the floor. I thought the price was a bit high and we were not in a hurry to have the repair done since we could use other shower/baths in our home. I finally called to schedule the repair in February and asked if they would still honor the quote (only good for 60 days), which they did. They were able to schedule the repair for the next week. However, the day before the scheduled repair, I got a call from Miracle Method stating that because of a family emergency with the repair tech, they would need to reschedule the repair. They were VERY apologetic and were able to schedule the repair for the next Friday. The next Friday, the repair tech was running a little late (about 30 minutes) and we received a call from the office letting us know. The Tech did show up at the new arrival time and was there for about four hours performing the repair. He did a great job and left NO mess. The crack repair involved three layers of a fiberglass mesh and resin, each layer covering a larger area over the crack. This stiffened the floor area quite a bit where the crack had formed, though the floor still has some flex there. We'll see if it holds up. There is a 5 year guarantee on the repair. The SRS is a textured finish with some type of grit in it. We chose this mainly to "hide" the crack repair since it was unlikely that the repair material would be an exact color match (white) to the rest of the stall. It's Ok, though when it gets soapy, it's still pretty slippery. Over all, I thought $450 was a bit expensive ($275 for the repair, $175 for the SRS), but it saved me a $3000 - $4000 shower stall replacement.

SHANE DID A WONDERFUL JOB! THE SHOWER PAN IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE FINISH SHOULD LAST AS LONG AS THE PAN DOES. SHANE IS VERY PERSONABLE AND OFFERED OTHER HOUSEHOLD TIPS. THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN.

It was fantastic. I called Arnie earlier in the summer to inquire about his services, he said he would get back to me once his health improved. After touching base again, he set up a time and once he arrived he got straight to work. He definitely knows his trade and has his system down. He did the shower the first day, showed me how to work around his venting fan after he left. He returned a second day to touch up the shower and then work on the tub. He was a pleasure to have in our home, interesting to chat with and respectful and clean. I will definitely contact him once we redo our master bath and want the jetted tub changed to white. He did quality work and saved us tons on remodels by giving new life to 1989 fixtures!

The job was done quickly and professionally. I wish we could have gotten more of the chemical smell out of the house after he painted but it wasn't bad after we opened the windows to air out the house that evening. I felt safe leaving Arnie with a key to the house while my wife and I were both at work. We are satisfied with his work and his prompt service.

first, I was told that two plumbers would be sent to do the job and that the cost would be $150 per hour. But only one plumber showed up for three hours and one showed up for 1 hour. clearly, two plumbers would work more quickly than 1 and reduce the number of hours/cost and when I spoke with Todd (owner/manager) about this, he said this is how they handle matters. secondly, the installation was done without following the manufacturers instructions regarding a number of steps to which Todd (owner or manager) responded that it was installed the way that they always do. So, I paid him.

Tub looks brand new! Turned out extremely well. The only hiccup was the bedroom window, needed open for equipment, was left open when he left, and air conditioner was running all day. That was minor. Overall, the experience was a good one. My daughter is very happy with the way it turned out and it saved us from having to rip out a tub and try to find another one to fit in this older home. It's not a cheap solution, but we believe this was definitely the way to solve the problem and this tub was very cruddy--finish was rough and we tried everything to get it clean...it was futile! This service made it look like a brand new tub! He was prompt, professional, and did a great job! We highly recommend the service and the service provider and would hire him again.

Was delayed by weather ventilated the area. Quality application, could have used more tarps to cover hardwood floor.

DAVE BECK MADE QUICK WORK OF THIS PROJECT AND DID NOT LEAVE ONE SPECK OF DEBRIS BEHIND. WE FOUND HIM TO BE VERY PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. VERY EASY AND PLEASANT TO WORK WITH.

Lance was very prompt, courteous, and professional. He did a great job and helped us with tips and suggestions as the project moved along. He was productive and kept a clean work area. He supplied us with a daily report of materials purchased and his time. He worked for an hourly fee plus the cost of supplies. We are very pleased and would definitely use Lance again. We highly recommend him.
