This is a bit of an odd one (I think). The client has said “leave policies keep rolling over to the following year, can they have an end date as each year is slightly different in terms of holiday allowance” (I’m not sure why).

We suggested changing the 20 days to 21 days for 2019 but everyone still seems to have 20 days (despite the policy having 21).

You can create multiple leave policies. We suggest you name them differently “Standard Leave 2018” and “Standard Leave 2019” etc and apply different lengths to each. You simply stop using the previous year’s policy once the year ends.

Thanks – how do they stop staff drawing down on existing policies? Can they be set to turn off at the end of the year or does someone have to do it manually each year?

Leave has to be approved so if the staff apply under an inactive policy the manager simple does not approve it.
