The very delays by AG Garland & Fulton County DA Willis in indicting Trump for trying to overturn the election in plain view are harmful in themselves. By the time indictments are handed down (if ever), people will have become convinced nothing really criminal could’ve happened.

In today’s hearing before Judge Chutkan, Trump’s lawyer’s attempt to block the Jan 6 Special House Committee’s discovery of documents that could shed light on his role in the attempted coup and the insurrection was a total bust. Expect the court to rule quickly for Congress.

The problem is our economy and political system was handed over to corporations and the wealthy, resulting in stagnating wages, gridlocked government by design, and now, as the system buckles, they’re using authoritarianism and conspiracy theories to maintain control.

I get that the DOJ would be concerned about violence as a result of holding the Inciter-in-Chief accountable for his role in the deadly insurrection. But justice can't be decided based on the fear of a violent minority throwing tantrums.

Unless Congressional subpoenas are fully enforced once again like when Susan McDougal defied a subpoena from GQPers in Congress in 1996 and served 18 months in prison for it, I don’t want be excited about the Jan 6th Committee subpoenaing anyone. I want consequences, not theatre.
