Fully qualified domain names (FQDN)

The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for a site on the VIP Platform can be either the www or non-www variant of the domain.

For WordPress single site environments:

• If the FQDN assigned to a site is the www variant, the site will be reachable at http://www.domain.com and requests to domain.com will automatically redirect to http://www.domain.com.
• If the FQDN assigned to a site is the non-www variant, the site will be reachable at domain.com and requests to http://www.domain.com will automatically redirect to domain.com.

For WordPress multisite environments:

• Redirects between the www or non-www variants of a domain do not occur automatically. These redirects must be set up in the vip-config.php file.
